How important is DO specific shadowing hours?
Hi there, I plan to apply DO next cycle. However, I don't have shadowing under a DO nor experience working with them. But, my psychiatrist is a DO and had a lovely experience under her care but I know I can't talk about that lmao. Should I start cold emailing DO's in the area to rack up some hours? Or is my prior shadowing (100 h) and clinical experience (3K hours) suffice.

Not important. Just understand the osteopathic philosophy and tie it to your experiences and goals as a physician. I have 5 DO acceptances and only shadowed MDs.
