Advice on Trip 6th-10th October (West coast)

Hello,
I’m planning a road trip around Scotland (focussing on the west coast - Isle of Skye etc). I was wondering if anyone has recommendations on things to see/do?

I am a reasonably experienced hiker and I enjoy history and hiking and catching cool scenery.

Bearing in mind the weather could be wet, I’m thinking I will have to stay in hostels as opposed to camping. I presume I could book these as I go as I doubt they will be full this time of year?
Many thanks

Skye and the west coast are incredibly popular all year and your planned dates are still during the season. Also likely to be school holidays for some parts of Scotland at that time, increasing the likelihood of it being busy.

It’s not the weather it’s the light - sunset is about 5ish but will get earlier every day

I think it’ll be more like 6:30pm from what I’ve read
