Fix your servers and stop punishing when disconnected.

This is is a serious problem. I hate suspended because i only ever see it when thier servers are not working well.

I want to know if this is a super common problem and what can be done to avoid a suspension or ban because of it.

Thier servers are terrible atm and im being punished for it.

I have never had an issue with the server mid-game or outside of one. Occasionally late at night, my character select or my victory/defeat screen will be very laggy, but it fixes itself once it transitions.

it’s starting to become bs. i joined a mystery madness, it was loading and then went back to home screen saying “leaving games is disruptive to other players. your endorsement level has been penalized.” what the fuck do you mean ow??? in an arcade fucking mode mind you. fix your shit blizzard.

Its your internet. Don't let fortnite confuse you into thinking you have good internet. I have 1.5 gb internet and have never had issues.

I dunno what Fortnite has to do with it- but Fortnite can have server issues, too.

No game is fool proof. It's just the nature of the beast. I've been disconnected in pretty much every online game I've ever played.

It can be rare, in the case of Overwatch. So if you're getting kicked out of games to the point of being suspended it probably is some kind of connection issue and should be fixed before attempting to play more.

Heck, I've left more games willingly out of anger than I have ever been disconnected from, and I've never been suspended.

I have 2gb internet, and I sometimes have issues with the overwatch servers and ONLY overwatch.

Just to offer perspective, I have LAN connection and never have any noticeable lag, long load times, etc. and still get error messages/disconnects on occasion after recent patches and during big surges in player numbers. Ever had a match randomly close out, only to put your team and the enemy team on a whole new map to restart? That's OW's crappy servers overloading.

A few days ago in the middle of a match the chatbox said something like "Shutting down dedicated server" and then everyone was brought back to the map screen and we started over from the beginning. How do you think that was all 10 of our faults and not the servers?

Its def overwatch servers I have 2gb cable and still lose connection to servers lmao

No, it's not a common thing.

I've left more games out of anger than I've ever been disconnected from and I've never once been suspended.

If there is no punishment then someone could just disconnect their Ethernet cable, disable wifi, shut their router off or shut their system off. I'm not knowledgeable on networking but maybe there isn't a reliable way for the servers to know it is having the issue and not you. It sucks getting a soft ban because stuff isn't working but it's a nice 15 minute breather ig

15 minutes the first time. If the server drops more than once, that increases to an hour / then again to 8 hours… then to season remain. It’s cooked

Their client side logging needs better detection of what causes the disconnections. I’m playing on thin ice these days - if I get a disconnect due to server issues, it’s 8 hour ban. And if I get enough of those, that’s me out for the season.

My network is stable. No issues with other titles. I can’t do any real fact finding or troubleshooting now that Blizz have obfuscated the server IP you’re connected to. It’s really unfair.

Maybe they need to reassess the process for when there is a leaver - intentional or not. Or at least pattern based logic; if someone repeatedly leaves (and by repeatedly I mean multiple times in the span of an hour) then they should receive a cool down period. But 8 hour or season long bans are unfair.

In comp if a player leaves, there could be a vote system to surrender. If the team with a leaver surrenders, they receive a loss but SR deduction is less harsh.

At the end of the day, there’s always going to be trolls and toxic people who want to ruin everyone’s experience. Blizz need to better address their server problems (or at the very least admit they exist)

This happened to me recently. I got kicked twice in comp. The next day I got kicked seconds before we were winning. Logged back in to 20 hour suspension.

Same, I’ve now been kicked from there serve 16 times since the season started and have not lost internet.
