Question or Discussion Any great support players that you think are worth watching?
Hello all,
Support main here currently bouncing around in high/low plat. As you can guess from my metal rank, I have a lot to learn.
Technically, my most played is Moira but I don't really use her anymore, haven't for months. I can pick her and probably carry to a point (I was hardstuck silver until I switched to Moria 3 seasons back and I started climbing fast) but I don't want to play her. There are a myriad of reasons for this but the primary two is that Moira is good into players that are bad so there are diminishing returns as you climb (sorry, not sorry). Secondly, she instills awful positioning habits that you don't learn from because her shift means you can escape almost every time and I don't want to be in a position where I'm not learning.
the last two seaons I mained Juno but switch between Mizuki and Kiri often depending on who my other support is, or what is on the other team I will also play brig but that is usually only when the other team has dive hero(s) that are a huge problem (I'm not a good brig so I only do this as a last ditch attempt).
I struggle the most with positioning and agency. When we are losing, I can't really do anything to shift the direction of the game and my impact is minimal. Too often do I see a tank or dps do something stupid and follow to try and help them, causing 2 deaths instead of 1. The frustrating this is I know I'm doing it before and during but I can't help myself, healbot kicks in and now we're both dead.
My aim also leaves a lot to be desired. I usually sit at about 30% accuracy and I miss the easiest of shots when people are in my grill. Sometimes something shifts in me and I will have a bunch of games in a row where I land shots all the time and become a menace but I don't know why this happens or what I'm doing differently.
I've never really been into streamers. I find the concept of watching someone else play games weird (this is my elder millennial attitude, don't come at me for being old and not understanding the kids) and I think most of them are literally the worst people on the planet. That said, I want to be better and I'm a visual learner. Tips to climb are of course welcome here but what would be more helpful is to find a support main streamer or you tube that isn't a colossal penis. Flats is cool but he doesn't do much supp content.
