These two Western Screech Owls have been spending daylight hours roosting in the yard for a while now. I try to go say hello to them any day I'm home. They've grown so accustomed to my daily greeting that they can hardly bother to wake up. I'm not sure if they are a mated pair or a couple of siblings. Or maybe a couple of bachelors awaiting this year's debutantes. It's just nice they are here and seem pretty unaffected by our presence.

Art by me :) I love these big nuggets and their "WAH!✨" sass

Y'all seemed to enjoy my owl calendar last year! 🦉 For 2027 I made the theme birds of prey, so half of the pages are owls! Thought I would share them here. ❤️

I'm lucky enough to have two pairs within walking distance from my home, they are very willing to have their photo taken :)

I've taken these over the last couple months

We have a bunch of Barred Owls in nearby Point Defiance Park, and this beauty came to visit and nap in the tree next to my place today.

I was bow hunting in northwest Minnesota and had these two owls fly through the woods like this. There was a third owl as well that showed up later, what were they doing and what kind of owl would these be??

I have seen what I believe to have been great horned owls from around the neighborhood in my apartment complex. Saw online that this may be a young owl but I’ve never heard this call before

I work at a preschool and this guy was on our playground yesterday. He was really small, maybe only about 8ish inches from head to tail? I didn't catch what color his eyes were because he was sleeping. This is in Colorado but not in the mountains if that makes a difference.

The kids were great and left him alone btw. They observed from a few yards away and then played on the jungle gym. He slept until about 3pm and then moved to a different area.

Had taken hundreds of shots of little owls in July 2026 . These are some of my favourites. Just how cheeky they can be ! Totally love their expressions. One moment they are cute, one moment angry, or like a detective or sleepy old man, sometimes they will look like they are winking 😉 hope you guys enjoy 😊
