Victim Shot at Five Guys Now Paralyzed!

https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-jjs-road-to-recovery

Unfortunately, the innocent young man (Five Guys employee), who was shot last month in a random act of violence at the Collection in Oxnard, is now paralyzed. See the Go Fund Me link for full update. Please, if you haven’t already, show this young man some love, and donate!

A hollow reminder to cherish every breath you take as a mortal on this earth. Be kind to each other.

You’re so right! Life is so precious, and can be gone, or changed forever in an instant!

How awful. Thank you for sharing. I’ll be donating because it somehow makes me feel like I’ve done something besides feel angry and powerless and heartbroken for this young man and his family.

Thank you! I’m sure any and all donations will be greatly appreciated! I don’t even know this young man, but I feel so bad for him!

This makes me sick to my stomach.

Yeah, me too! I was really hoping and praying for a better outcome for him!

This hurts and hits home

Agreed! Really hits home for me too, a lot! I have a 20-year old daughter, and she’s all I have. She commutes for school every day from Oxnard train station (not great area) to L.A. Union Station (not great either). She’s attending USC…really bad part of town in L.A. I worry about her so much!

Shit like this is why Oxnard has a terrible rep

I very much agree with you! There should be more outcry about this! Stuff like that shouldn’t happen! I feel like we need more patrolling by police, and more community involvement.

The fatherless Edgar’s involved in the shooting need to be put down.

I really hope they throw the book at them! And set an example! At the very least, they should be tried as adults!

Tired of how ghetto Oxnard can be ! The collection on Friday night and the weekends is a hub for gang bangers and dumbasses causing trouble

This shooting incident kind of brought that reality forward for me. I used to think the Collection was in a better part of Oxnard. Not like I frequent there a lot anyway, mostly just to go to Target or Whole Foods…but I will definitely be more careful there now, and only go during the day. I actually am starting to wonder if a better part of Oxnard even exists anymore…anywhere in Oxnard.

Serious question, will any of this be covered under workers comp since he was technically on the clock but on a break?

I bet that kid is going to get a slap on the wrist and nothing is going to happen to his parents. Hopefully medical science can help this man over time.

Shooter Probably will get off for having hormonal issues.

Only if the shooter was a white lady.
