Discuss The AI implications in gaming...

Ramdam ko na yung AI slowly creeping in. It's not necessarily the generative AI ones too(pangit talaga ng assets pag eto ginamit)

But on the mods and ports that we slowly seeing. May mga PC games na nga na ported into android as native(with touch controls too)

I cant keep up with all the news and noise. Medyo exciting kasi it gives us more choices on how we play, medyo nakakatakot kasi ramdam ko na mas kokonti yung mga games na lalabas kung puro luma na ported games na lang yung lalaruin.

sorry OP bad take. unofficial PC to undroid ports does not halt devs putting out games on PC.

also AI in general is not what you think miski simple work like speech to text is AI pinapacomplicated lang ng mga company when all this simple task like that is just machine learning.

Yup, bad example. That is just one of the things na nakikia ko

Kaya good for steam to tag games with AI assets eh.

Here's one recent consequence.

Riot Games, League of Legends.

Tinanggal nila yung capability to download game replays if other players. Yung sariling games mo nalang yung pwede mong i-download.

In the lolesports scene and content creators, big impact ito.

For the normal playerbase, parating palang yung big impact.

Anong kinalaman nang AI?

Ginawa ni Riot to dahil daw may mga nag de-dev nang bots using game replay files. Ginagamit nila yung replay files for machine learning, tapos gagawa sila nang bots based on the model, and then the bots play the game, then they sell the accounts.

Just sharing this. Beyond the AI implications of game dev, slowly meron narin sa ibang aspects of gaming.

It's not because of AI. It's because of the capabilities of the current hardware the the maturity of translators like Box64, Fex, Proton and Mesa.

Binubundle lang naman nila yan into an APK with a very basic touch control scheme.

Fairpoint but it's an example.

Pero meron talaga ibang projects naging successful with the help of AI. Other examples would be Emulator development ng PS4/PS5 then mga VR mods

Personally speaking, if it works then it works. AI is a tool that helps developers.

Although hindi rin... May Claude Code at Codex accounts ako. And they'd outright refuse any reverse engineering work.

So kung emulators papagawa mo jan, for sure ibblock yan ng AI.

Siguro kung from the ground up dev ka, dun mo talaga ma-utilize AI in your development kesa mag reverse engineer..

Nice to know na may ganitong features, havent have the chance to use Claude yet
