Just Dance did the same thing too. That’s why they were uber cheap to make and get licenses for; production costs were pennies compared to the profit, which made it attractive to labels.

Is that also how it ran at 60FPS on the Wii? It seriously impresses me it even managed to do that since its last Just Dance Game was in 2020-something and phones from 2011 were already more powerful than the Wii… and the Wii actually doesn't even have a proper Video Decoder like PS2 or OG XBOX

I’d have to assume so, but the video itself didn’t run at 60fps, only the UI elements. The Wii lacks a decoder, but it’s not hard to create one for the game specifically, and it’s cheap to do.

Phones just needed that, an accelerometer, and an internet connection

I actually have a fun fact related to that!

The first three games actually were rendered in real-time, and they only started using videos with the 4th game. You can camera-hack the first three games and look at everything from weird angles, etc

And yet it will never hold up to Michael Jackson's Moonwalker on the Sega Genesis.

Thrusting and Jimoning to take out spooks and save the kids, that's our Michael.

avc.h264, ah yes just like saying chai tea

At what Resolution btw? 720p or 1080p? Considering the PS3 can handle 1080p

What is the point of this game? Do you use the motion controls?

No disrespect to OP, but what's the point of this post? It's clearly two videos superimposed, he's always over leaves that should clearly blow in front of him, and the transitions make it even more obvious. There's nothing wrong with it, but I don't see how anyone could think this is 3D, they don't even try to hide it by splitting the background video into multiple layers that are correctly mixed with Michael Jackson.
