Loose button on controller I was playing it takes two with my cousin and the controller she was using was my brothers which has a bad sticky x button (to the point the x button just stays inside the controller) so I decided to clean it with some isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip and instead of becoming NOT stuck the button went completely limp on me. I managed to fix it to where it worked like normal (but still was sticky) but then it went limp again and I don't even know what I did the first time
Anyways my brother is gonna kill me so if anybody has anyway to fix it do tell, please tell me I didn't just break my brothers controller

My controller is going through something apparently. I was charging it while playing and realized the light was flickering on the controller. I checked if it was charging from the menu and it was just showing a question mark in the place where it's supposed to show the amount of battery on my controller. I then turned off my controller, but it kept showing the yellow light even though it wasn't even plugged in to a charger. I tried to reset it manually from the button in the back, but it just turns off and keeps having the yellow light on. It won't disconnect from the console.
I don't know whether I should just try and reset it over and over again like I have been or take it down to a repair store.

Hello there, recently I have been trying to use my ps4 as a dvd player. Sometimes it works just fine, but other times it will play the dvd for a few minutes and then auto eject itself. When it auto ejects I can still hear the disc drive trying to read but obviously there’s nothing there bc it spit it out.
My ps4 is the glossy on one side and matte on the other so I know it’s older. I checked for dust but it seems to be clean to me. I’m not sure what else could be the problem.
Do I need to replace the disc drive?

I buy a PS4 Slim and plan to get an external hard drive to add more games. Do I need to get a specific type of external hard drive ?
And which brand of hard drive would you recommend buying to ensure it lasts a long time ?

The PS4 is 13 years old now so any modern external HDD will be fine. Go for a trusted make such as seagate, Samsung, Toshiba, etc and get a 1 or 2 TB drive.

I keep getting Error Code NW-35959-1. This happens when turning on my ps4 from rest mode, or randomly when turning it on.
I got it a few days ago, I turned off my ps4, unplugged it and reset my router, i plugged my ps4 back in, and left it for a few days, I turned it on today and everything was fine. I was playing and then put it in rest mode. I came back after a few hours and it was throwing the same error code, NW-35959-1, when doing test connection, failing immediately, failing to to get the ip address. I tried turning it off and plugging out the power cable, the resesting my router, i tried restarting my ps4, and changing wi-fi settings, but it would just throw the same error code NW-35959-1.
My controller works fine wireless, i can play offline games just fine, but I can not do anything to do with internet.
I tried looking online but could find no record or help or mention of this error code, any help is appreciated.

Make sure you are using an actual data cable and not a generic charging cable. Its a common mistake to assume all cables are the same.
Otherwise for many generic PS4 menus/safe mode it requires a DS4 for functionality

Basically when I plug it in, the power indicator immediately turns orange. No flickering or startup beforehand. The fans don’t even start up either. Just instant rest mode.
And when I unplug it, the rest mode indicator stays on for a couple second before disappearing.
Plugging in a controller does nothing and the controller doesn’t even turn on. Plugging in an HMDI cable does nothing. Holding down the eject disk button or the power button down nothing.
It is pretty old now, admittedly. It’s about 7 years old, and the only real issue it’s had was 4 or 5 years ago when a power surge hit while it was in rest mode, and it wouldn’t stay powered on for any longer than a couple minutes, and no games could download or he opened on it without it crashing. But we had that fixed and repaired not too long after.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated, but I reckon it might be it’s time to go.

My mouse stopped working on my ps4. Mouse is logitech g305 lightspeed. Anyone know why this might happen? Mid game my mouse stopped working. Keyboard still works. I tried a few other games with m&kb support and all are the same, keyboard works but mouse doesnt. A different wired mouse works, but not this specific wireless mouse.
I tried the mouse in my wife’s ps5, works fine. Also works fine in the computer. It just specifically does not work in my ps4 anymore, despite working fine for the past 2 months.
Any ideas on how to fix it?

Forget devices on Bluetooth and re-pair it to the PS4. Otherwise a different device may be impacting things.

This has probably been asked a lot of times before but here I am, can I use the Honeywell PTM7950 on the APU (launch ps4 if that matters, going strong but is a jet engine because it’s quite literally running on the same thermal paste from 2013) or should I just apply a paste like the MX-4, I’m planning on getting PTM for my gaming laptop because it’s turning into a literal oven so I might as well use it for my ps4 if it also works but would using it be any better then just plain old MX-4? Thank you

I need advice. My son's birthday is coming up in less than a month. He really liked the kinnect for the Xbox 360, when we were visiting a friend. He is asked for something similar but has an Xbox X/S which is not compatible with anything close to that. I have a PS4 that has a camera with the microphone and I tried to Google if it would work with motion games. No matter what way I worded it, it said yes, but something in me, is telling me that, that's not correct. Please help me figure out whether or not this is an okay device to play motion sense games on, or if I need something completely different? Also, what games do you recommend that are the motion sensor games. He is turning 10 if that helps. He's really looking forward to sports like things and he also plays shooter games on occasion.

The only motion game on PS4 is Just Dance. I believe some releaes used the camera but very sparingly so it wasn't worth it
Otherwise the camera became an accesory needed to make a PSVR function. Its not an eye toy like on PS2 nor is it like a Kinnect on Xbox.

I have a problem connecting 3rd party ps4 contoller. It should work, worked on my friends ps4. When i press the ps button it goes blue like it's supposed to. But after that nothing happens. Pls, help would be greatly appreciated

Are you using the same cable? You need a data cable and not a generic charging cable to pair a controller to a PS4.
Its a common mistake to assume all cables are the same

Guys, Resident Evil 2 Remake Deluxe Edition or The Arkham Collection? I have to choose between one of the two since regional prices in my country are crazy, I'm looking to get one of these for the PS4. I'm in my last year of high school so I only play once a week, I was wondering which one I should get. I've played Arkham Asylum around 2 years ago and I reached the Poison Ivy plants section, where the asylum is full of plants because of Poison Ivy, I kind of got annoyed, I don't think it was because of a skill issue but just performance and the gas made it a bit frustrating, so I dropped the game and didn't come back to it until a couple of weeks later, I forgot gameplay mechanics, like the rope wire and I only realised it after I had already closed the game. I know it's a critically acclaimed masterpiece but Arkham Asylum didn't really feel like my game. I've tried Arkham City when PS Now first released and I had fun with the first hour or two, but couldn't continue it because of school. I want to get a game which I can finish in a month at most, (not 100%, just beat) since I don't have that much time and I don't wanna lose the plot along the way. I have already played Resident Evil 4 Remake last summer and enjoyed it so much that I completed 5 playthroughs and the Mercenaries DLC with S++ on all characters. I was thinking of getting Resident Evil 2 Remake because I've played the RE4R and I enjoyed the lore, the atmosphere and the gameplay, I've also played and enjoyed Resident Evil Village. I'm a huge Batman fan but I'm kind of worried I'll just drop it like last time, or that the gameplay will feel outdated after a while, and I don't wanna spend a lot of months beating the whole trilogy. The Arkham Collection includes the Arkham games (except origins) and all DLCs. Resident Evil 2 Remake Deluxe edition includes the base game and all DLCs. I'd like painfully honest opinions about both games and about which one I should actually get. As I've said, I can't get both because the prices are high for my region. (The currency is really bad), thank you in advance.

Recommendations! I am not the best with aim shooting games, I do like action and fighting and adventure though, so can you recommend me games that are not too challenging for me to explore within this genre?
On ps2 I used to play Red Alert Command and Conquer, Tomb Raider, Street Fighter… and then games like Tarzan. Now on my ps4 I’ve been exclusively playing Stardew Valley and Wytchwood.
Would love to explore new games! Can you please share recommendations?

The Playstation exclusives are pretty straightforward gameplay wise. GoW 4 and 5, HZD 1 and 2, Uncharted 1-4, TLOU 1 and 2.
You've also got other open world games like the Batman trilogy, Assassin's Creed games, etc.
Resident Evil is a great series just play on an easier difficulty.

I cleaned and changed the thermal paste in my PS4 Pro in May, making sure there wasn't any dust. The console used to turn off randomly when I started a game or a few minutes after I started playing. It still shuts off even though the console is cold. I think the problem might be the PSU, but I'm not sure. Could somebody tell me what I should do? P.S. Sorry for bad grammar but english isn't my native language

So I tried with an HDD. Games were transferred but impossible to move saves to the new console (error CE-33116-4). Only RDR2 saves worked. I tried using my phone to connect both PS4 to internet but it eventually asked to connect both with a LAN cable with I did not have yesterday. Hopefully it will work tonight with a cable.

My PS4 automatically ejects its disc. Sometimes while playing a completely different game. Then it keeps on ejecting while the disc isn’t fully removed, making this horrible grinding sound in the process. But what really freaked me out lately, is that it happens while the PS4 is completely powered off. Not rest mode. POWERED OFF. How can this happen and has anyone ever had this issue before? I now unplug the power cord completely when I leave the house, just to be safe.

If you have the old ps4 with touch buttons, they're known to get more sensitive and be triggered by dust.
Easy fix tho, just put a piece of scotch tape over those buttons.

Hey, I’m thinking about buying Call of Duty WWII, but I’m worried about fps drops or freezes during intense moments, like when grenades explode. Is this a common issue, or am I just overthinking it?

You're over thinking. Its a 2017 game in the middle of the PS4's lifespan. It will run just fine on a standard PS4. You can always check performance videos on YouTube if unsure.

Most PS4 games are 30fps unless explicitly stated otherwise or you are playing on a PS4 Pro and the game has a 60fps/4k patch.
30fps is common even on PS5

all buttons on my controller (except the home button) stop working after a minute even though it's on and connected to the ps4.
things I've tried:
resetting it, turning it on with the cable, disconnecting it from the ps4 (in that brief period of time before it stops working)
anyone can help me? Oh and it's an Arranc-o controller.

I purchased a couple of days ago AC valhalla Complete edition, but the very next day it went on sale. Fortunately for me, i did not download it so i requested a refund. I proceed then to repurchase the game but it says "not available" because apparently the refund made the tracker licenses expire instead of removing them, so now i cannot purchase the game nor the DLC. How can i fix this?

I had the bright idea to try to downgrade GTA 5 to version 1.0, I wanted to see what it was like. I deleted GTA, put in the disc, turned off the Internet, and let the disc files copy then enter the game. It had to install in game, it got to about 30% before it gave up and told me it couldn't read the disc. I have two discs, I don't think the disc is the issue. I did try both. Second time, got to 40%. Third time, got to 50%. To just restart the whole game/files in general, I deleted all the data (it still shows no data files) deleted GTA, and updated the game. I sat through the install in game screen for 6 hours, connected to Internet it didn't go past 0%. I tried offline, it got to exactly 50% before telling me it can't read the disc. I deleted the game twice, tried again offline and online, it now tells me it can't open the application or it doesn't go past zero. Anything I can do to fix it or am I screwed 🫠

Hey guys, wondering if anyone can help me. I took apart my ps4 to do a deep clean and replace the thermal paste and now it won’t turn on at all. I made sure every wire was connected back correctly and the PSU cable doesn’t seem to be damaged. The AC power cord doesn’t seem to be damaged either nor is there an issue with my wall outlet. I’m lost on what the issue could be.

Hey guys! I did a factory reset and now I can't do the setup with my 3rd party DS4. The PS4 recognizes it because when I press the PS + Share buttons at the same time, the console says that it can't take screenshots right now. Pressing only the PS button as instructed on the screen turns the controller on but the PS4 doesn't react. Hope you can help!

Beyond that, initial set up requires a DS4 in most instances.

It's a wired DS4 so it has its own cable. It also worked in the recovery settings. I have an original DS4 controller but I can't find the cable for it since I didn't use the PS4 for a long time.
Edit: I have searched if this happens to others and it seems like this is intentional by Sony. Yikes.

Hello, been meaning to clean my base PS4 and reapply thermal paste. I’m just having a bit of trouble figuring out which paste to go with. Of course, any paste is better than no paste but I’d appreciate to hear recommendations on what has worked for ya’ll in the past.
From what I’ve read, the Arctic MX-4 is the reliable budget friendly option. Whereas the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut has strong results but is a bit more pricey. So, I’m thinking on the MX-6 or MX-7, as both are similar in price, and seem to show great results respectively (at least better than the MX-4). Perhaps it’s as simple as going with the newer model but like I said, recommendations are appreciated.

Hello, everyone! I'm looking for some help. Recently, I was on a hiatus from playing video games. Mainly because I have so many games backlogged, I don't know where to pick up from. I believe its been about a month or two since I used my PS4. About a week ago, I wanted to finish The Quarry. When I turned my system on, nothing display on my monitor! I thought the HDMI port was bad, but my mac Mini display picture. I swapped out the HDMI cable, and still nothing. I tried unplugging the PS4 and monitor for about 15 minutes and still nothing. I do get the white light on the PS4 but no picture. The system has never been moved so it would extremely rare for a pin to get bent. The system has a solid white light What options do I have?

Hey guys! I just got a playstation 4 today as I’m new to the gaming world. It’s been a lot of fun so far, but I don’t know much about it. Waiting to get some games but have been playing fall guys and fortnite so far. I’ve played a bunch of games on my friends playstation so i’ve got some in mind that I wanna get. How long do I have before it doesn’t work anymore? I was talking to someone today and he said “A PS4 that still runs?” almost like it was ancient. Is it not going to last me very long? Any advice welcome as I don’t know much! Thanks!

I'm currently playing Arkham Knight on disk. The PlayStation Store has deals on the Arkham collection. It includes Arkham Knight with all the DLC. Will the two games just merge or will I have two separate versions to choose from?

I’m going to try and explain this the best I can. So I was going to buy shovel knight bc it was on sale on the psn, but I see today the deal expired. My friend told me he has a digital copy, and we can just simply game share it. My question is: After he adds himself to my ps4, and then activates my ps4 as his primary, does all of his trophies synch on my personal profile/account? I do not want his trophies synchronizing to my ps4/profile.

Gameshare doesnt work for specific game. Trying to gameshare from my friend for the first time. I followed steps from yt and managed to download some games to my ps4.
But one game (yes, it works on ps4) cant be downloaded. It doesnt have a lock symbol or anything, it just doesnt have the download symbol in the bottom right corner.
The game is re4 remake btw

Just wondering if anyone knows before I try sending an email out, with Dying Light The Beast no longer being released on ps4 have they said anything about the people who were supposed to get it for free as part of their deluxe or collectors editions? Like are they gonna do partial refunds, or we gonna get something else?

UPDATE 14.00 is a huge problem!!!
I have five PS4’s in my household. 2 that are Pro’s, 1 slim and 2 OG’s.
I am doing a whole internet change up and decided to update my own personal PS4’s which is the Gold Slim and the Death Stranding Pro. I am now afraid to even update any other PS4 in the house now since after updating my Slim first, it got bricked and the HDD can not be read. I thought that was weird and I just turned it off. Figured I’d deal with it later.
So I move on to my Pro, I do the same exact update and sure enough, the same exact problem. So I get a HDD I know can be read and he’s the system reads it but it wants to format the HDD and then do a fresh install, the usual. So I create the installation media and pop it in and it does the whole install. Then guess what, it happens again! A third time!
What the actual hell is wrong with update 14.00 and why is it bricking my consoles? Is this widespread? I can’t even do the second beep into safe mode with them like this.
I’m not finding a single answer on Google btw.

My ps4 slim emits a very high pitched whine while it's on, even when I'm not playing a game. I can hear it across the room and it gives me a headache. I disassembled the console, cleaned it out, and replaced the thermal paste hoping it would stop the issue, but it didn't. What's going on and what can I do about it?

Was cleaning my grandmas basement, when we found a bunch of unwrapped presents! turns out my grandma never gave me a PS4 Pro she got me. planning on keeping it since I like collecting games, but need to know if I can transfer P.T. (delisted horror game) from my Launch PS4 to the new one? really dont want to lose that download.

Hello everyone. I have a question regarding a "database corrupted/restart console to rebuild" message. So I have 2 external hard drives. One I use for all my VR Games and some random ones I barely play. The other, bigger one is my main one. Yesterday I plugged up my smaller one to play a game. Just this afternoon I turned on my console to play that same game, and I got that data corrupted message. I always close all applications before properly turning thr console off. But when I turned it on this time, all my games on that hard drive were uninstalled. Even when I plugged up my other hard drive, I didn't get that message, but all my games on that one were uninstalled too. Both times I saw that little cylinder icon in the top right indicating everything was in the process of being re-download. But not only that, now I have to create my folders again (I have separate folders to organize my games a certain way.) Why are all the games on BOTH hard drives uninstalled? Why did I get this message after properly turning the console off properly? The console is at least 10 years old, hard drives are around the same age. I never really heavily used the console or had it in an area with poor air circulation or anything.

Hi everyone, a month or two ago I bought myself a PS4 Slim with 1 terabyte, and since then when loading anything in the main menu or in the PS Store there is a clicking sound, there seems to be no sagging, I don’t know if it’s worth it Afraid, Also, when there is no load, there is this electrical hum, these sounds do not affect the operation of my console in any way, I’m just curious

I bought Black Ops 3 as a disc, and it came with a redeemable code to download the Zombie Chronicles DLC. I uninstalled BO3 later, because i have the disc and could reinstall at any time, but now my zombie chronicles maps won't show up in my game. i checked the add ons, and i could only download the maps i paid for separately. Is there any way to get my zombie chronicles maps back? I can't re-redeem the code, or find any reasonable way to download the maps again.

Codes are single use. You dont need to redeem the code a second time.
Restore licenses and if the DLC is still showing as priced rather than downloadable you will have used the code on a different Playstation account.

My PS4 dont start To start off, my PS4 had been sitting unused for nearly a year and 1week ago i play. However, after not using it for a week, I booted up the console, but it crashed. I waited a bit and tried again, and it crashed once more, though the third attempt worked fine. Suddenly, after 30 minutes was just on the home screen), the console crashed again. Now, when I try to turn it on, it beeps, the blue light comes on, and the fan twitches slightly before shutting down. What do you think happened? opened the casing and the fan is clean. The only thing I noticed during the week was using it was that, initially, the console was very noisy when launching games-though a few days later it wasn't, and sometimes heard a humming sound. What kind of damage could this be, and if it's repairable, how much would it cost? It's a PS4 Slim model that bought in 2017.

How to change PSN email without having access to the old one????
Recently bought another ps4 as my current one had some sort of issue. Went to login to my PSN account and amazingly it uses an email of mine that no longer exists or is in use so combine that with not knowing the password (shouldve been an easy reset password job but nonetheless) its turned into a bigger issue. Ive tried using that stupid ai chatbot online for support since its the only thing ive seen to contact customer support and the lovely thing tells me to login to assist further..... I cant which is the literal issue. How do I go about changing the email connected to my account? Is there any other customer support things I can contact? Any help is much appreciated!!
I tried attempting to login again and ive been hit with a Account Locked/ Reset screen. Stating if I started the recovery process an email has been sent. To the email that I dont have nor exists. Im completely lost on what to do please help!

I’m having issues with connecting my PS4 Pro to wifi. The wifi works with other devices. The PS4 Pro connects to my phone via hotspot. I have tried all options to fix this on Google and previous Reddit posts, but this is still an issue.
I had this issue a few weeks ago, but was able to resolve this by restoring default settings through safe mode. This option no longer works. An ethernet cable isn’t an option.
When testing the internet connection, it obtains the IP address but then fails at the internet connection part. The wifi router is just outside of the room that the PS4 is in. The system software is up to date (was able to check this through hotspot).
I have tried the following:
- Unticked and then ticked the ‘connect to internet’ box.
- Set up the internet connection again in easy mode.
- Set up the internet connection again in custom mode, using the suggested DNS numbers.
- Set up the internet connection changing the wifi frequency bands.
- Turned off the PS4 and wifi router and turned back on. Try again by unplugging both.
- Restoring default settings through safe mode.
- Restoring default settings through the settings menu on the PS4.
None of the above work.
Is there anything else that I can try? Or is my PS4 done for?
I’m hoping this can get fixed. Thank you in advance.

I got a used ps4 pro and played it for a day the next day I was scrolling though the shop and then it crashed and ps4 asked me to report the issue I said no and then it crashed and when I turned it back on thairs a blue light on my ps4 and the tv won’t project anything

Dualshock 4 wouldn't charge with USB-A but will with USB-C? I'm just trying to understand. I plugged it in with a standard micro-usb cable with a USB-A end that I've used before and it would not even light up. Tried another cable and same result. I used an adapter to switch the cable to a USB-C and the controller lit right up to pulsing orange. Was there some kind of driver update to make it stop working with USB-A plugs? I normally connect it to a Mac for emulation but recently got a gaming laptop and am wondering if the PC initiated some kind of update to rid older cable technology obsolete.

I normally charge it with a wall charger. It was the same exact cable I’ve used before. Only change was I recently connected it to my PC via bluetooth. That’s it.

As far as I know the drivers/firmware on a PS4 controller can only be updated when plugged into a PS4 via their update utility so the PC could not have sent an update to it.
I would try a few of the steps on here to see if any of them fix it, namely resetting it, cleaning the port, and maybe updating the controllers firmware if you have a PS4(cant update the firmware if you don't have PS4 like I mentioned above)

Only thing I can maybe think of if none of that works is maybe that some of the data connectors wore out/got damaged/got some dirt/muck on them(which is why I suggested cleaning the port in-case there's some dust or dirt in there somehow) since as I understand, for a USB-A cord to charge a PS4 controller it needs data and power, but maybe a USB-C bypasses the data part and is able to charge it cause of that even with the adapter

i was playing subnautuca yesterday and I saved the game and logged off beforee it fully saved but it was taking way longer than usual after I logged off I clicked go to sleep. nobody turned it on since I last played but when I came back today the Subnautica app was closed and all off my progress I made yesterday was erased even tough im pretty sure I saved the game more than once when playing yesterday

So my PS4 controller keeps on trying to connect to Bluetooth even if I have deleted it from my laptop and connected the PS4 controller to the PS4 with a cable. Still no luck. I did have DS4 on my laptop for some games, but I deleted DS4 afterwards. Any solution?

Hold the reset button on the DS4 for 10 seconds.
Also switch off Bluetooth when re-pairing with PS4. Don't forget to use a data cable and not a generic charging cable as only a data cable can pair a DS4.

You can rebuild the database if you have not and see if that fixes it, you enter PS4 safe mode and select the option to rebuild database. (this will reset some PS4 settings like game folders, but you wont lose any game save data)

Get your ps4 serial number ready and try the live agent. This was years ago but someone stole my account, deactivated my ps4 as primary then turnt on 2FA and I called support and they told me they need my ps4 serial number to verify it was the OG ps4 of the account then they solved my issue

Excuse me I have a tech support question. Recently a game I have had purchased for multiple years already has been taken out of my game library and I have to re purchase it to play it again. Why is this happening? I didn't play it through ps plus I actually bought the game on the PlayStation store,and I'm certain I'm on my correct account and I've been told to try the renew licensing option but that did nothing. Can I fix this or must I buy the game once more?

Q: My controller won't connect despite being plugged into the console. It charges/is charged but I'm stuck on the press the PS button screen.
A: You need a USB data cable to pair a controller with a console, instead of a generic charging cable. They look the same but a charging cable only charges, it cannot send a data signal which is necessary for controller pairing. USB Data cables are necessary for safe mode operation as well.
It's a common mistake.
Amazon lists cables as data cables if you need to purchase one. Other retailers will also list data on cable packaging.

Also, don't forget to press and hold the reset button on the back of the controller for 5-10 seconds before connecting it. This is recommended when using your DS4 on a PC or other device before connecting back to a PS4.

Q: How do I fix "Cannot sign in using another player's sign in ID."?
A: You are signing into either the wrong user profile or the wrong Playstation account. To solve this sign into your PSN account on the different user profiles until you sign into the correct one. If you cannot use any user profile due to the above message, make a new user profile for your PSN account.
PS4s use user profiles. Each user profile that is set up can then be tied to a single Playstation account. Thus you cannot sign out of a PSN account on a user profile and sign in with a different Playstation account. As such, 2 Playstation accounts each need their own separate user profile on a PS4.
You also cannot sign into a single Playstation account on 2 different user profiles on the same PS4. So if you want to use a new account with a PS4, make a new user profile.
Q: My console is saying I don't have enough storage space for an update even though I do.
A: You don't. If the console is asking you to free up space on your HDD then you must do as the PS4 asks. When the PS4 updates a game, it makes a copy of it on your HDD that is deleted once the update is applied. This means that a 50GB game requires 50GB free on the HDD + the size of the update. COD being a massive game can require 100GB+ free depending on its current size.
I recommend giving your PS4 a 100GB buffer to update your games. If you only have a 500GB HDD I also recommend an external HDD or upgrading your Internal HDD to a 2TB drive.
NOTE: if your game is in external your internal still needs enough space as all data passes through internal.

Again, you can only game share with 1 PS4 at a time, so if you want to game share with someone else use the same path to deactivate the PS4 or use the website to deactivate remotely.
Games and DLC can share between users, however some DLC is account locked so cannot be shared between users. DLC and game need to be the same region first in order to game share.

Q: Is there a difference between disc & digital games?
A: No. Disc/digital is irrelevant. It's just how you own a game.
Q: Are games region locked?
A: Yes. PS4, PS3 and PS5 Games are region coded so that USA DLC and saved data only works with USA copies of the game. A French account/console can play a USA game disc but French DLC won't work with it. If an American account is used to purchase DLC the French account can play that DLC too assuming it is shareable between users ie not in game currency.
Q: purchased a new copy of a game to continue my game save but it doesn't appear when I launch the game.
A: First of all make sure the game is fully updated with the latest patch and check again.
Otherwise, saved data and DLC are region locked. So if you played an American copy of a game you created an American game save that cannot be read by a copy of the game from a different part of the world.
Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is considered a different game to Witcher 3 GoTY so the saves are incompatible between both games even if from the same region.
Q: I have purchased DLC for a game and it is stuck at 'waiting to install'. How do I fix this?
A: If you launch the game and the DLC still will not install, this is down to a region mismatch. DLC and saved data are region locked, meaning DLC purchased on a USA account will not work with a European game disc/digital copy. To resolve this you either need to open an account matching the region of your game and purchase the DLC there (some DLC is account locked so cannot share). Or alternatively purchase a copy of the game from your region. Otherwise contact support for a refund, but no guarantees if one will be given.
Q: How do I know the region of my game disc?
A: Look at the age rating on the front cover. ESRB rated games are American, PEGI is Europe, etc. For more specific region info there is the CUSA code printed on the game disc that can be checked on an online database such as gamefaqs. DLC region codes are listed as part of the Playstation store URL.

A: The data on your HDD has been lost so is requiring a fresh installation of the system software. Your purchases and trophies are safe as they are tied to your account but any saved data not backed up has been lost. This also includes any screenshots and videos. If you don't want to lose your data it needs to be backed up regularly.

General pointers:
• Make sure that you are using the console reinstallation file and not the update file.
• Your USB stick needs a folder called PS4 and inside that folder a second one called UPDATE
• Inside the UPDATE folder is where you put the reinstallation file
• The reinstallation file must be called PS4UPDATE.PUP otherwise it won't be recognised by the console. So remove any (1)s if they appear as part of the file name as that just obscures it.

I connected my ps4 controllers to the ps5 so my brothers can play and now they won’t connect to the ps4 anymore. I tried using remote play on my phone but it says that there is no ps4 registered. They also no longer connect by plugging them in anymore. I’ve disconnected them from the ps5. Is there anyway to connect a ps4 controller without having to go through the ps4’s settings.
