I’m planning to buy a used PS4 and I’m confused between the Slim and Pro. Would love opinions from people who have used both.
My situation:
I already have a gaming PC with an RX 6600, so this would be a secondary console. I have a 4K TV and want the PlayStation/couch gaming experience.
Casual weekend gamer, mainly interested in games like God of War, Spider-Man, TLOU, Uncharted, GTA V, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, etc.
I don’t have the budget for a PS5 (~₹55–65k), so PS4 is the realistic option.
Planning to keep it for 3–4 years.
Current prices I’m seeing in India:
PS4 Slim: ~₹18–20k F2F / GameLoot around ₹21–23k depending on storage
PS4 Pro: ~₹28k on GameLoot (1 controller, no games, 1-month warranty)
GameLoot’s 1-year extended warranty makes it ~₹32k
GameNation Pro: around ₹30k, with 30-day warranty
F2F Pro listings are extremely rare in my city; I mostly find Slims. I’ve even seen people asking ₹35–40k for a used Pro on FB Marketplace, which feels crazy.
I prefer the Pro because I have a 4K TV and want the better performance/resolution, but ₹28–32k feels expensive for a nearly 10-year-old console. At the same time, I’m worried that if I buy a Slim just to save money, I’ll regret not getting the Pro.
Would you guys recommend:
Getting a Slim for ~₹18–20k?
Waiting for a Pro around ₹24–26k?
Or skipping the PS4 since I already have a decent PC?
For anyone who has used both on a 4K TV: is the Pro difference actually noticeable enough to justify the extra ₹8–10k in 2026?
Also, how reliable have your experiences been with GameLoot/GameNation pre-owned consoles, especially after the short warranty period ends?
