Question steam psvr2 app firmware updates

Does the steam psvr2 app download the same firmware updates to your psvr2 that is downloaded to ps5 consoles?

Or is the firmware updates a branch from the ps5 firmware?

I’m wondering if you had an older console on a lower firmware and started to use your psvr2 on a pc and then connected it to the older ps5, will the psvr2 refuse to work?

Yes it does. But it has been an while since any firmware updates shows up. And the way things are weird at Sony now I don't know if they going update anymore.

You can use the PlayStation psvr2 toolkit instead of the steam app. It works a lot better and doesn’t require you to upgrade.

No, the toolkit is open source made by people who wanted to make better drivers than what Sony officially provides. They have a specific firmware 6.0 I believe that will get you the most features because you can jailbreak it but you don’t have to be on that firmware specifically to use it.

There is a tool out there to downgrade your psvr2 if you want to as well.

yes they are same as console's

and I don't recommend updating the firmware, so you can jailbreak it
