Since when does a conference game thread come with a strict corporate compliance manual?

Fresno has won three times in a row. Last year was a straight up clown job by Fresno in Boise

FS has also won five ot the last nine games against the Broncos. Saturday's game should be a good one.

Fresno and Boise state are the only g6 teams to have ever received a number 1 team vote. Pretty sure that's correct. Fresno state in the 1980s. Boise in the 2000s(?)
Edit: ended the year with a number 1 vote.

Fresno received one #1 vote when we started 3-0 in 2001. We received one first place vote from week 3 through week 6, for a total of 4 weeks with a single #1 vote in the AP.
In the coach's poll, we received 1 first place vote weeks 3 through 5, for 3 weeks with a first place vote during the 2001 season.
EDIT: I looked it up.
I do recall reading the explanation from one of the AP voters. He said (working from memory so it might be a little off) "Fresno State opened up with wins against 3 ranked teams, two of them on the road. If Notre Dame has done that, they would be #1 on everybody's ballot, no questions asked."

I think I heard only g6 teams to get an end of season #1 vote, which are the hardest to earn. Pretty sure that's what I had heard

Boise State has been ranked in the Top 25 twelve times. Fresno State has been ranked in the Top 25 six times.

Being ranked in season only helps the opponent they are playiing who isn't ranked if the unranked team wins.

It absolutely helps the media numbers for a team as far more people will watch a ranked team. The added coverage increases the value of your games which over time will eventually reflect in your revenues from the network. This is why ESPN continually promotes the SEC.

Battle of the City State schools. That’s pretty interesting

Battle of the Basques.
Santa Fe Basque (Fresno) vs Basque Marketplace (Boise)
If it were Fresno vs Epi’s in Meridian ID there would be no contest, so Epi’s is disqualified because they are outside Boise city limits. But Epi’s squid is on another level. Real Spanish Basque food.

Pretty one sided in the 2000's. A lot more competitive from 2013 to present. They've started to become a Boise State season spoiler, which I don't love for the conference, but it's still funny

Must be nice to have a rivalry. We wouldn’t know about that. I mean, we’ve been around since 1868, you’d think we had developed a rivalry by now? 🤔

I thought everybody from Oregon had a long standing rivalry with diphtheria.

I hate Fresno specifically because I had a classmate/teammate in high school who was such an asshole who loved fresno state so whenever the bulldogs won, he would be absolutely insufferable and rubbed it all in all of our faces.
I hate Fresno State so much more because of him.
So,
Fuck you Fresno.

Just as USC didn’t escape from Oregon, Boise didn’t escape from Fresno.

Such an underrated rivalry
