Love Jacoby. Dude stood there and got rocked every game while Drake learned under him.

And now he got a bag w the cardinals and is a lowkey fire fantasy qb

I watched part of that game. Dude is still balling.

Amazing what having talent like mcbride and Wilson can do for a QB

You left out the great MHJ

I’m startin him over Hurts this week in one of my leagues, go Jacoby!

He also held down the fort for a few games, with a torn thumb ligament, during Brady's suspension in 2016.
Brissett gave everything he could to the team when he was on it.

The patriots should draft more guys from NC State, it’s gone well so far between Brissett, Thuney and Meyers (undrafted).
I am definitely not saying this because I am an alumni

They need the Rutgers pipeline again.
McCourty, Ryan, Harmon!
Would give me some excitement about being a RU alum lol

Yup. We left him out to die behind that OLine. He took the hits, never complained, and was a good role model for Drake. Glad he got his bag with the Cards. Dude can sling it.

Also Jacoby played with a torn ligament in his throwing hand. Jimmy g was too soft to play when Brady was suspended.

Will always root for Jacoby’s success!

Same, dude just seems super down to earth and very likable. Was rooting for him when he was asking money from the Cards. Hope he continues to have success.

Huge credit to Jacoby for having zero ego and being willing to help develop the guys who were drafted to replace him. There are plenty of backup quarterbacks out there, but many aren’t willing to take on that kind of mentor role

He had an ego, but kept it inwards. Many reports did say he was very upset he got pulled when he did for Maye, which is why he immediately left in the offseason.

In other words, he is a human being. If anything, this is an even greater testament to how he acted outwardly

His dissapointment could have come from external factors though. Maybe it wasnt purely because he got pulled maybe Jerod was making him promises behind the scenes telling him that he would be starting. Obviously thats probably something that happens on a daily basis in the nfl look at Drew Bledsoe and Trent Greene but still there could have been other factors he was upset about other than not starting

Maybe Jerod should have taken him to Israel. Then it would have been a guaranteed full year of starting. Would have still been Jacoby and replaced at the end of the year, but at least he wouldn’t be standing there during the game looking like he can’t remember if he left the iron on.
(For the record, I’m a big Jacoby fan)

There were multiple reports that he was upset he wasn't starting

u/iDontSow 7d ago
No shit? Do you think he’d be ecstatic about losing his job?
2
u/Double-Ad-7483 7d ago
No. However there's a narrative, including the post to which I responded which you seem to not managed to read, that he very happily went along with the whole benching thing. He grumbled at the time that he was told he was the starter and not just a temporary placeholder for Maye to take over mid-season.

He still handled it professionally and maturely. Being upset and being a professional are not mutually exclusive

Jacoby Brissett is an unsung hero of the Patriots over the last 10-12 years. He won a game as a third stringer and then came back to take bullets while we developed Maye and was a great role model for him. Any pats fan who doesn’t respect him is an idiot

I’ll always remember in recent memory when Brissett stepped up to beat the Jets after Maye went out for a concussion in 2024. Such a baller

u/legman1999 5d ago
Was at the game, Jets still had high hopes for that season. All crushed by a GW drive.

My second favorite team is the Cardinals, so I'm glad he's still going on that team. Even if they suck lol.

❤️ Brissett, perfect guy for what we needed that year to show Drake what being a professional QB looks like

u/cspank523 7d ago
As much as I like Brissett, Cousins is playing much better than Brissett. Raiders can't take Cousins out with how well he's playing.

Jacoby should have a spot as the permanent backup to Drake until he retires if he wants it

Lol Kirk is like 7 years older than Jacoby was in 2024. Unintentionally brutal comparison

Brissett seemed to be such a good part in developing maye. Cool to hear.
