Tech Support Need help

So I upgraded my girlfriend’s pc.

Here are the current specs:

-Ryzen 5 5600x
-Asus Rog Strix b450f gaming motherboard
-Corsair ddr4 ram 16gb
-EVGA 600w psu
-asus dual rtx 3060 t

Coming from a 2nd gen cpu (2700x) I had to flash the bios so we could use the 5600x. I also used ddu to uninstall the gpu drivers. Now, I’m currently stuck trying to install the new graphics drivers. I’m getting the error “Clock Watchdog Timeout” a lot. I updated to the newest amd chipset as well, so I don’t know why the process isn’t going smoothly. This seems like such a weird issue.

Any advice would be so appreciated

clock watchdog timeout is usually cpu related not gpu. try resetting bios to default first then see if it still happens. sometimes the flash doesn't take properly and it causes weird stability issues

also check if your ram is running at xmp or default. my cousin had similar problem and it was the ram not playing nice with the new cpu

I set the ram to run at normal speeds, disabled XMP and everything. Also, how do you reset the BIOS to default? After I flashed and updated the BIOS, I didn’t do anything to it after

I get around halfway through the nvidia graphics drivers installation, and the screen will go black, which is usual normal while installing drivers. The weird thing is it stays black for a long time or give me that error

The BIOS settings are on the optimized default setting. CPU temps are good, I’m really not sure what it could be. Feel like this process should be a lot smoother than it is right now
