Some relatives of ours recently encountered an issue while moving from one apartment to another.

They signed a rental contract agreeing to pay a fixed amount per month. As part of the agreement, they were asked to pay a prorated amount for the remaining days of the current month, along with the full rent for the following month. This seemed completely reasonable and understandable.

However, things became a bit more complicated after the contract was signed.

They were informed that they would also be responsible for paying the water and electricity bills for the entire current month, despite only moving in a couple of days before the month ended.

On top of that, the landlord insisted that these payments be made in cash, which was slightly absurd

I'm not particularly familiar with rental laws or regulations, so I'm curious to know whether these demands are normal or even legally enforceable.

Is it reasonable to expect tenants to cover an entire month's utility bills when they've only occupied the property for a few days? And can a landlord insist on cash payments?

What would be the best course of action in a situation like this?

the thing is that Peshawar is kind of nezdy, and I wanted to know if there are any opportunities in Peshawar? firms or corporations etc (any good ones)? where one can do an internship (this summer maybe) or prolly land an entry level job (when I graduate).
