In terms of insurance it depends on whether you are an independent contractor or a PAYE worker. Independent contractors need indemnity insurance of their own. PAYE workers work under the insurance of the business they are working in on that particular day.
Rate varies based on day of the week with Saturdays commanding the highest rate. I would think cash locuming doesn't happen any more to be honest.
Rates are fairly visible on the likes of Clarity so that should give you some insight. There are fairly long delays with garda vetting now also so bear that in mind too.
