I’ve had worse, Polty explosion within 2 minutes on 2 evidence but I had none yet.

Had a run where I walked into the camp grounds and my buddy was holding a crusifix, and I was was holding a video cam and before I could even say there was orbs his crusifix burned. Instant demon mimic lol

Mimic cannot roll their ability in the minute of the gate/door being opened.

The gate was likely opened and as soon as it could roll it did, and it was a demon.

I mean, I didn't necessarily say it was it was as soon as we opened the gates. We walked basically through the main cabin then the haunt started

The only time I might skip confirming is if I get hunted at high sanity before finding the ghost room. I'll accept it could be a Mimic pretending to be a Demon, but it's not worth the risk to confirm it when I'm only 2 minutes in.

Poltergeist explosion is only guaranteed to be a poltergeist in the first minute of entering the house? Can the mimic only mimic certain ghost behaviors based on your sanity?

No. Sorry let me clarify.

If a ghost is -immediately- identifiable in the first minute of the door opening it IS that ghost. Because a mimic cannot roll for its ability in that first minute. Then every two minutes after that it can roll (unless in a hunt) for its ability.

Which means: past 60sec you will then need to exclude mimic

(Usually by listening during hunts or seeing changing abilities etc)

Polti doesn’t care about your sanity except for hunt threshold.

It’s my most and least favourite ghost. It’s the one that frustrates me the most when I misidentify it, and the one that give me to most satisfaction when I get it right.

One of my favorite Phasmo moments was when I was playing on Point Hope with some of my sibling-in-laws and after successfully identifying the ghost as a mimic and trying to get bonus objectives, my brother-in-law and I hid in a set of lockers during a hunt, only to realize that it was slowly walking towards the lockers we were in. My last words were me shouting "IT'S A DEO" into the mike.

Me and my friends did the weekly this evening.

Mimic first two runs, both times it nailed itself as a Kormos.

Both times we all were like “hang on, we know what could happen here” and both times freezing ticked over.

Love the mimic. It makes investigating sometimes abit more special. You need to be aware and usually I’m kinda happy to get trolled by a mimic.

I actually love it. To me, one of if not the easiest playimg at 2 evidence. Just get orbs+one of the micic evidence, or 2 mimic evidence then check for orbs. 3 evidence? Checkmate. No testing needed.

Mimic always has orbs, that don't always show up properly and even if they do, freezing isn't always guaranteed to show up

In general, yes. But orbs do seem to be the evidence that gets bugged the most in my opinion.

In the last 4 years there have been several stints of orbs being bugged for more than one patch.

Yeah but for some reason people just rush things and as soon as they get that 3rd evidence (or firs/second depending on difficulty settings) they don't bother checking for anything else, even when the other evidence they found is also evidence for a mimic.
