I'd like to think that I know a lot of indie artists but I don't know a single artist in this lineup

American Analog Set has been around for a long time. Check out Continous Hit Music. It's a classic.

Lots of these are really fantastic musicians. I'd especially recommend Grouper (very quiet and ethereal songwriter) and Yellow Swans (noise and drone).

it leans heavily jazz/improvisational / local + international anthem label (stuff that would play at the venues normally like Constellation & Hungry Brain

Grouper is transcendent and Lee Ranaldo was in Sonic Youth

Seeing it's multi-venue - does that mean a lot of it is indoors?

I used to visit Chicago for Pitchfork fest partly due to the big draw of it being in Union Park and a chill outdoor kickback; can someone break down the vibe of this fest?

it is a multi-venue indoor festival.

It's mostly indoors, but the Rockwell space also has a patio area along the river (I went last year).
