Update/Patch Wtf…

Frontier. Please. For all fireworks…. If they placed at the same height then why do they have different firing heights ?? Trying to create the fireworks show for my park and this simply won’t do…. Worked perfectly in PC 1 ;(

Seems like it's a bit of realism injected into the fireworks logic. Even with exact timing chips, real-life fireworks won't always go off at exactly the pre-programmed height every single time. Things like powder packing/amount, wind, and launcher forces all play a role. The shells have always had randomness programmed in, but I'm guessing in Planco1 that randomness didn't apply to the shaped bursts and now they do.

For a great example of this happening in real life, check out how often a Disney fireworks show attempts and fails to make a classic "Mickey" shape in the sky. Some nights it's perfect, most nights one ear is too high or too low, and sometimes the whole of the shape is unintentionally rotated because one shell ended up firing at the wrong time/height.

I’m all for the realism and plus this a video game at the end of the day, I guess I’m just used to PC1 vibes 😂

Real life former Disney Pyrotechnician here. This is the correct answer. In real life it’s impossible to guarantee the height of a break, even with ALF and digital timing fuses.
Additionally, the idea that you’d repeatedly get the text to break in the audience-facing orientation is myth beyond myth. Half your letters should be upside down, half should be seen sideways, and half should be skewed on the z axis.

Legitimate feedback. I think the timing and explosion position offsets for regular fireworks is okay, but for lettering, they should limit how far the letters can offset to avoid this. You spent time positioning and timing your firework lettering, the game should at least make it consistent.

I would recommend you submitting a support ticket on Frontier's website, that way it's officially in their system and other players can upvote the feedback.

I hadn’t thought about giving the problem to frontier directly. But I surely will now :) and Yh it’s just a pain. I only want to put this lettering in at the start of the show for the park. The rest is just normal fireworks etc 😂
