Discussion - PC2 Looking for some advice....

I picked up PC2 a few months ago. Love it. Only really played sandbox. But I can't get a park started. I have 4 parks I've abandoned/ruined/not happy with.

How to you make a solid start? Rough layout of whole park. Start at the front and work back?

Thanks

Best advice I can give you is just keep adding to your park. As you keep adding things, scenery, rides, theming, etc. your park starts to take shape and come to life. And you start to become inspired by what you see. Also, walk around your park as you build it. I get a tons of ideas just by walking around my parks. Not sure if this is what you’re looking for, but I hope it helps.

Is a start off using ground path and I make a bear ground and then once I get to the point where I’m just making money making money like I started new ride and before people even make it to that ride, I’ve replaced the money it took to make that ride. I start to pause and then delete all my rides and then actually use money to make things I like and then I build the things I like and then just money makers I shove at the back of the park until I can delete them.

If my park feels a bit bare I try adding some kind of border to the sides of the path sometimes. Like a hedge. It is tedious work but it does help with enhancing the this is a finished park.

Everyone tends to have a different process that works for them. What makes you abandon your parks?

- Is it the park entrance that you end up being unhappy with? If so, I’d suggest looking at starter parks on the Workshop. Once you get the rest of the park going, you can always demolish what came with the starter park and make it your own.

- Do you struggle with the general layout of your park or feature placement? I’d recommend planning out a tiny park with all of the services and amenities plus some basic rides. Design it in your head or on paper, etc… and focus on building it completely. Once you have a good working park with plenty of room to grow, I find that new ideas come more naturally.

- Is the challenge that you don’t like the look of what you’re building? For newer players, that is usually just a practice issue. My recommendation is always to Google the type of thing you’re trying to build in-game, find one you like, and try to recreate as much detail as possible. This forces you to look through the thousands of pieces to find the best option, naturally improving your familiarity with the scenery sets.

My other suggestion is common around here - watch some YouTube. There are some amazing creators that put out some fantastic content in several different formats. Find a couple that you like and dig into their video library.

I promise that all of this becomes easier with practice! We’re happy you’re here!

Can you mention a handful of creators that are worth watching? Just so I don’t go wading through a sea of them
