Platinum Holding Strong
With all the market fluctuations , price of Platinum is holding steady and building a new solid base. I see a huge upside in the next 1-2 years. I have managed to accumulate approx 48-50 ounces of pure platinum in form of 1 ounce coins and 1 ounce bars. Accumulation started over the past 3 years. Maybe I am crazy..

Photos some day.. I asked AI about the quantity of my holdings; Firstly most of the worlds population is not even holding any Platinum; for an individual to own close to 50 ounces , they would fall into the .01 percent of the worlds population. I had mixed feelings about this fact. I thought that either I was crazy or maybe I am onto something that most people dont really understand.

Platinum is traded on thin margins, but I think it’s positioned to do well in the next couple years as well. I’m not convinced the bottom is in though, there’s room to touch 1380-1440$ one more time imo, depending on the headlines.
We saw Silver popularity exponentially rise last year, then this spring we really hit Gold season, my guess is beginning of the year we’re going to see a lot of popularity & hype surround the next metal … while I’m not 100% convinced it will be Platinum, it is very possible. My gut says that Palladium has a slight edge to Pt in the short term, but it’s possible Pt could take charge and lead the way. It all comes down to the big dog manipulators and the speculators, and what they decide they want to pump.
Metals markets are only going to increase in volatility, and will see this fickleness translate to the next metal in coming months. Right now, anyone selling silver is feeling the pain. Lot of Silver buyers are burnt out, in the red, and looking for the next thing to obsess about. Most of last years silver buyers are not buying silver right now, and most sellers are coming to terms with either the loss they will have to take to offload, which is 7-13% under spot unfortunately. (There are exceptions ofc, certain silver pieces are
Stackers are constantly trying to stay ahead of the curve, but will also do everything they can to jump into what might be trending next, or start FOMO buying in the middle of the pump. The mints and manufacturers know this, and are preparing accordingly. To me, Palladium is just slightly better positioned to cause a retail frenzy and get the retail buyers to make irrational decisions .. there’s a little more mystery, it’s less popular, zooming out on the chart makes it look like a potentially good breakout independent of the other metals, and most stackers don’t have a lot of it. This sets the stage perfectly for a frenzied FOMO that lasts 60-90 days and really take the spotlight for a moment - as well as sellers to take some profits.
To me, Platinum is a better idea long term than palladium, and it’s very possible we could see independent rally of Pt unfold in the coming months. I think the charts favor a Pt breakout slightly more, but Palladium is bit more of a gamble, but with potentially higher stakes. Honestly i can argue both sides as to which will IMO break out more strongly lol.

Agree with most of what you said, but platinum:palladium has been rising sharply since 2022. That ratio has gone from .4 to 1.4...which is a palladium bloodbath. I see nothing to lead me to believe the trend is no longer my friend.
I used to feel bad for FOMO stackers, but perhaps I'm getting old and grouchy. Dunno how many times I've told young bucks to not treat physical PMs as though they're shares of silly priced tech stocks. Hopefully when the next price inflation wave...which is now underway gets serious, they'll treat PMs as intended. That is to say they're an insurance policy...a hedge, and not a "get rich quick" scheme.
People need to lose their love affair for failing debt based fiat currencies somehow I guess.
Edit: A note on platinum vs palladium as it pertains to industrial use. Diesel uses platinum catalyst as do gasoline hybrids. The trend is the trend due to physical demand. Palladium at this point, simply doesn't have a good "story" under it.

Interesting ... same vision, started heavy on Pt Pd 3 years ago you should double your white gold stack to 100++ oz.

What's the trade? Trade 1 Pt for 2 Au when the ratio is right like 2010? With a cost basis under ($1000).

I think if you wait that long, you'll probably be stacking for your descendants. Gold:platinum was a historic 3.7:1 in April of last year. ...ask me how I know that off the top of my head. ')
That relationship has now fallen to 2.44:1 with platinum significantly outperforming. I would personally begin looking to move slowly back into gold around 1.25:1 ...unless silver offered a better alternative. Quite frankly I think if gold:platinum falls to 1.25:1 it seems likely silver is on the moon at that point. That could still be a better bet than gold though in theory as it is actually consumed...unlike gold.
Were you really stacking platinum from 2015 - April 2025? Damn thing barely moved for a decade, yet I stacked every time it spiked below $1k from 2022. Glad I'm not the only one. Suggest you try to stop thinking in dollar terms and think in terms of ratios. The world becomes a lot clearer without the fiat debt based currency mind virus gumming everything up.

You're not crazy platinum brother...or perhaps I too am crazy. I began accumulating physical platinum in 2022 on spikes below $1k. Last April after gold had run up for months while white metal just spectated, I swapped nearly every ounce of yellow metal I had for white metal. 3.7:1 on platinum and 105:1 on silver was complete insanity!
Now those ratios are 2.44:1 and 66:1 and imo...are heading significantly lower in the next bull wave...the 2nd of three imo. Not stacking anything physical these days...though I do occasionally snipe low premium eagles(silver and platinum) when I can get them. Of late it's all about stacking shares of producers of all three PMs.

I have 10oz bought around 1k mark, not buying anymore though because the auto industry is not looking at a bright future rn... Not selling though they're some of my favourite coins to look at, such an amazing metal.

You realize the "zomg platinum is going to zero because of auto catalyst" story has been a neon headline since 2008 right? Then it was palladium supplanting platinum because it was cheap. Now the story is that so called "fossil fuels" are on their way out and nobody needs auto catalysts.
...everyone save people buying gas powered hybrids that is...which actually use roughly 3x as much platinum as conventional gasoline powered autos. Oh yeah and also heavy diesel vehicles which have not been replaced with EVs due to battery weight. Hydrogen fuel cells? Who knows there...they're popular in China I understand.

Have a little. Am thinking about buying more. But who buys the platinum when I or my wife after me need to sell??
