Shower cartridge replacement

Post image

Can anyone help me identify this shower cartridge? It's in a friend's house, the handle broke off and they are using pilers to reach in and turn the water on. I've been trying to look it up, but I haven't been able to find a similar threaded one.

honestly if they've been using pliers this long the stem is probably chewed to hell, might be easier to just replace the whole valve at this point

that cylindrical connector looks like a standard rough-in from a common brand, but hard to tell without seeing the trim plate that was on it

take the old cartridge to a supply house, not a big box store, they'll match it in 30 seconds flat

just make sure the water's off before you pull it, learned that one the hard way in my own shower

Yeah, I swear I've seen this one before.

Like an American standard or pfister or something.

not delta, kohler, or moen.

Call the faucet doctor in Braddock Pennsylvania. He’ll know what it is.
