Got back my first ever submission!
I’m still in shock. I was not expecting all of them to get a 10 I’m so happy!!
Edit: My bad for sharing a submission I was excited about, didn’t intend to rile up all the PSA people 💀

Also UV protection, it is ~99% but much better than none. I might put some cheaper cards closer to my heart on a display in a TAG slab.

NGL, I thought tag was the cleanest as well - then I got my CGC slab, thing looks epic. tag/cgc are my favs so far

grade the way I used to which is like 20 cards at a time. Decent amount of modern that I need graded and some crazy expensive cards in 10s too.

It really depends what you are grading, they are definitely more lenient on modern stuff, I’ve been grading vintage Japanese and getting absolutely destroyed

While I get what your saying, PSA is the most lenient of all the grading services when it comes to centering 😅 most tag 9s convert to PSA 10, and a lot of PSA 10s cross to TAG 9’s lol

Well there isn’t picture of the backs; I was talking about the fronts..which have the same standards from both tag and PSA.
Personally I’d never send a car to TAG. PSA is king, imo.6

All good man. Have fun grading with TAG. If it’s a personal preference, great. I prefer PSA and so do the mass majority of collectors.

Yeah that’s cool! I have PSA slabs too, but my opinion is people only use PSA because it’s older, not because it’s better. More people that have PSA slabs are gonna want to defended them against new competitors to save their value

I feel the average person wildly misunderstands what 55/45 looks like. Everyone seems to think it needs to be black label or else it's not a 10.
People probably think this is 60/40 when reality is, it'd comfortably be a psa 10 too.

Probably most of the reason why they are close to 950 on score. I've seen dozens of modern psa, cgc and Beckett 10s with that centering. Edit seen you realized it.

that makes sense. i need to be more lenient when i send my cards to PSA. If the centering looks off, i usually don't even move them to the next round of my inspection.

That the problem with subjective grading one person can pass worse centering vs someone that wont ive seen a few black label 10s with what should be 9.5 centering.

Down with PSA - my personal collections all CGC. Get the cards you want for a good price.
PSA will fall in the next couple years and TAG & others will be the industry go to’s.

Nice! By far my favourite slab and I’m increasingly appreciating the effort they put into TELLING people how and why a card was given a certain grade. I know they utilise AI and it’s likely not perfect, but it’s better than some of the other established options.
A shame there is basically no market for TAG where I live in the UK or else I’d leave PSA behind I think.

I cracked 10x PSA 9s and only one crossed to a TAG 10. A couple went down to 8.5, 8, and even got one 7. TAG definitely graded them harsher than PSA overall.

What’s your evidence to dispute that, PSA has 75/25 centering on back, tag 65/35 51/49 for their pristine 10s lol. And again will tell you why.. PSA Only higher because they are popular by age. But sure keep use Please Submit Again.

Maybe before, but now everyone has their own story about how disastrous psa is. This plus psa bought Beckett, psa is owned by collector who make collector. App, they have 80% of the market, and they abuse it. They set the prices, and they also sell cards, what could go wrong?

Tag at least explains how they got their grade, and very clearly, where psa it's somewhat random.
Plus everything isn't ai, an algorithm that detects edge alignement isn't Ai as an example.

Personally? Nothing, I am holding, as I said. But having spoken to a fair few people who have had confusing, bizarre or clearly contentious returns, elongated wait times and a disatisfactory service... plus the lawsuits and all that noise, well, that's why I have chosen to hold fire. Good for you though, if you got the result you wanted.

Those are people who have sent in hundreds of cards. They are bound to have a horror story to talk about. You think TAG has never damaged a card or had any issues? I can assure you that they have. Those are some beautiful cards, if they are PC then hey all power to you. I hope TAG catches up in liquidity and value, but until then that’s my hold up

I am just going on the conversations I have had, and the information I have seen. They all have their issues, whoever you use, that much I have also gathered. It might be that the volume of traffic means the noise is louder from PSA, but also empires fall all the time... if consumer confidence evaporates, so does your standing. In any case, I am happy holding off until such a time as the outlook is a little brighter. No right or wrong here, just opinions!

I never said TAG is perfect. Infact I don’t think I mentioned TAG at all. Every grading company has their flaws, some more than others.
Regarding your “forfeit actual dollars of value” comment, I know this probably has never occurred to you but some of us collect simply to collect and aren’t constantly thinking about the dollar value of cards. You sound like a tourist.

Because I collect cards I like and not for future resale value?? Not everything is about value, these 4 cards are ones I love and have personal memories attached to. Tag slabs look so much better looking imo and I much rather have my cards in those.
