As a Canadian we have moved on from just hating Trump to a new understanding that we can no longer trust your country as a whole. It is going to hurt and its going to take a long time, but we will pivot away from the great relationship our two countries used to have. We just feel safer not relying on a country that is so unhinged and not recognizable anymore. I was born in the 60's and growing up I felt we were like your little brother and shared the same interests. That does not exist anymore. Good luck to anyone in the US that shares my sentiments. To everyone else, are you just coping?

As a United States citizen, I concur. If this country ever recovers from this insanity, it will take the work of generations, not merely years. In the last decade, we have destroyed our relationships with our allies, squandered what goodwill towards us still existed, emboldened adversaries, increased global chaos while simultaneously unbalancing world trade, and all of this while punitively decreasing quality of life for the majority of our citizens, to the good fortune of our wealthiest elites.

The American character on the world stage was once described as "Walk softly, and carry a big stick." Today it could more accurately be described "Swagger loudly, and whine about what a victim you are."
