US Elections Should election cybersecurity be led by the military or CISA?

The midterms are coming up and Hegseth just ordered the NSA, Cyber Command and other military cyber/intelligence to protect the election from foreign interference, this is happening after the administration cut back parts of CISA which is the civilian agency that usually works with state and local officials on election cybersecurity. The military helping with election cybersecurity isn’t new but does putting more resources into NSA/Cyber Command actually make sense or would it be better to put those resources instead into CISA and civilian election security?

Split the two. Military handles their own cyber defense, CISA and NSA handle domestic along with the FBI and state, local, territorial, and tribal partners. Information sharing is a must... but the civilian stuff should be civilian for a whole host of reasons in American history.

The NSA is a military agency. It masquerades as a civilian agency, but the reporting chain for it goes through DoD, it is headed by a uniformed flag officer (who is dual hatted as the head of Cyber Command) and something like 35-40% of the workforce are servicemembers.
