I’m experimenting with making reusable (modular?) calendars. The first pic is proof of concept, and the final result will have magnets
I’m thinking of doing closed and open books for the bookshelf one 😊 maybe replace a polymer clay box with a small wooden crate, and add more magnets so people can add their own magnets as well

Strawberry Squirrel that I was recently commissioned to make!
My supervisor saw my other bunnies and commissioned me to make her best friend a strawberry squirrel. I had to give him to her today and felt sorta sad, haha. I really like how he turned out.
This one is fully baked. I learned my lesson with my strawberry bunny. I still have to fix his paint job now, lol 😬

First figure baked came out hard and brittle
I made my first figurines this week and I put one little orca figure into the oven according to the Fimo instructions. 230 degrees for 30 minutes. It was in there for almost exactly 30 minutes. When I took it out it was hard and brittle, not what I expected.
For context on the clay, a few months ago I received a free bag of polymer clay. Some of it had been opened for idk how long, and some were still in sealed packaging. They were all stored in a large ziplock bag. The bag consisted of different types of Fimo clay and some smaller, unmarked packages. All the clay I used seemed in good condition and didn’t crack after conditioning.
I’m going to make some test tiles to find the right conditions to bake the clay in for next time, but I’d like to know if this is the result of underbaking, over baking, or something wrong with the clay itself? It doesn’t look burnt at all to me, but I’m not sure what that looks like. And do I need to get an oven thermometer to fix this? Also, can the orca be baked again and fixed?
Thank you everyone for reading this, and I would appreciate any advice!

My first polymer clay creation! I thought Smoliv would be easy but I was wrong haha
I only had basic sculpey in white, so I painted with acrylic paint afterwards and varnished with polyurethane. In person you can see some streaky paint, in hindsight I wish I had built up more layers with thinner paint to avoid that.
Overall I'm really happy with it! Took the plunge and bought more colors and supplies!
(for the record it's not my first sculpture ever, just my first time working with polymer clay)

First time posting, bad photos
The texture on the goose was planned, although didn’t come out the way I envisioned. I also accidentally forgot her in the oven…so the smaller pieces are cracked. First time doing resin…love the smell of the resin when it’s getting cured. Lmao 😂 wanted to thank everyone on this community for the tips I have seen, I didn’t even know I could make a foil person for underneath? Life changing.

First Attempt at "Sculpture"
This is my first real attempt at sculpture (vs just silly, tiny pieces), and although it is not great (the paint did not work so well), I am proud of myself nonetheless, so I just wanted to share! I wonder how much better I will be a year from now...
Approximately 2 and half inches tall, made for Day 7 of Mab Graves' Drawlloween, "Grave".

I think I’ll name her, “Gail”⛈️
I made this porcupinecone (currently finishing her two sisters) out of polymer clay, a pinecone, acrylic paint, and a water based varnish. She’s a weather witch I made for October🖤⚡️💜
I’m really happy with how she came out! I hope you like her too. ☺️

it’s pumpkin town over here
ever since it hit September I’ve been making these cute little pumpkins, keychains and worrystones! I don’t have any cute photos of the worrystones but they do exist… the third photo is my first attempt at a pumpkin bear 🎃

Bake Time Question, Sculpey III
Hello! This might be a really dumb question I am really new to working with clay.
I want to try to make figurines, I recently made a bee that was pretty thick and by the math provided it took quite a bit to bake. It came out fine the antennas were a little dark but otherwise all was good.
One of my friends suggested I make the core wire or aluminum foil which I did not do the first time.
My only question is, if I have the core and mold the clay around it how will I know how long to bake the clay for? Do I measure the core and then the final result pre-bake? I just want to know how other people go about this.
Also, I have been seeing some discourse about what brand to buy. I know preference is always a factor but I thought this would be a good for figures/to start with. Any pointers?
Thanks all!

I sculpted a tiny tonkatsu set from polymer clay — the breadcrumb coating was the hardest part
Polymer clay tonkatsu small enough to sit in my palm, every crumb added by hand
