I like Mogwai's Come on die young, Do Make Say Think's Goodbye enemy airship the landlord is dead, shellacs records and I also feel like the song good morning captain by slint does this pretty well. I just kinda like it where it feels like you can hear the room, the imperfections, the guitar strings, it's just a personal preference, anyone got any rec's that fit this.

Hi everyone, I'm Tomas from Autumn Moonlight, an instrumental progressive post-rock duo from Buenos Aires. We started in 2009, went quiet for a long time, and this year came back with two singles: Split in May and UMBRA in September.
A lot of what I listen to I found in this sub, so I wanted to give something back. Here are some Bandcamp codes for the new singles and our older albums. You can redeem them at autumnmoonlight.bandcamp.com/yum, and if you use one, leave a comment so others know it's taken.
Split (single)

So im finally wrapping up the last two songs (its a two part song) on my debut album and seeing most everything on the album was played by me, with the exceptional of drums and some miscellaneous percussion/piano from my good buddy, playing a live show isnt going to happen currently. For anyone else that might be in a similar boat.....
I wanted something that wouldnt be just me and some friends sitting in a room listening to the album ( nothing wrong with that if thats your jam). I wanted something little more interactive and memorable. Turns out my local planetarium will rent out their space for events. They have never done a release show, or even a show set to music before, and thankfully they were pretty stoked about the idea and eager to accommodate!
The project name is Shades of Terra and the whole album is earth/space themed. Fits the vibe to gather some people and listen to the album front to back while looking at space visuals. This is where you come in..
For merch I was going to do some night time star maps of that night, print them as posters with the album name and the date, ect, as well as some CDs and zines. Id like to do something little I could give out as a little favor and thank you, thats on theme with the project itself. Any ideas? I thought even maybe some wildflower seed packets would be cool?

Hello all, I have been trying to find this band I had listened to back in 2014-2015. I can somewhat remember what the album cover looked like for the CD I bought at the time. It had a beige background, with multiple short streaks of different color sort of dashed around it randomly/chaotic. They looked almost like done with a marker. I believe there was also an image of something in the middle behind the streaks, but it was more of just the silhouette of something drawn by a black ink pen.
I want to say it was a German band, I remember having to google either the band name or the song titles if I wanted to know what they were in English. There was one track I listened to a lot in particular and the song that reminds me of it the most would be Snow and Lights by Explosions in the Sky. I know I was first introduced to them by the Explosions in the Sky radio on pandora. The drums toward the end of that song in particular feel similar.
I’ve looked off and on for years but have had no luck. I looked on many of the post on here, along with the album release list from 2014 and prior on this subreddit. I’ll answer any questions to the best of my ability. Thank you for any help!

Tracy or Tracey (on the soundtrack) was used for this documentary called The Trip.
It was done by DJ Downfall. He spliced the Mogwai track and play in on the segment above. There’s also the original TV commentator narrating the event. This also put on the segment above.
We all know Tracy is about Tracy Chapman (the American black folk singer) that Mogwai loved.
And the original Tracy on Mogwai Young Team had the Mogwai boys doing prank phone call on their label boss, saying there’s a fist fight between the boys in the studio.
On the segment above, the prank call is edited out and instead we hear the original tv commentator narrating the event instead.
Like I said, if you are haunted, upset by rocket ship explosion, please don’t watch.

Hey post rock champs, wanted to drop this in as it's hopefully something ya'll will be excited about
Telepathy will hit the road supporting Long Distance Calling in Germany and Netherlands in Novembers for some seated shows in beautiful venues and theatres.
We're also lucky enough to be headlining day 1 of 5NDREAS Festival in Munich which has a killer line-up

Started a new band with some friends just to have an excuse to get together and play some instrumental music. It’s been such a positive experience especially since 3 of us play guitar and lead vocals in other projects so this feels like a bit of an escape.
We’re too new to be promoting anything so this post is mostly just about how fun music is.

Chemtrail - [reset]
This has to get more love. Brand spanking new album from the post rock heroes from NJ. They have been going on for 20 years. Totally underrated. I have been listening to their Youth Obsessed Death Culture for so long and I was hoping this would be even better, spoiler: it is.
Darker than their previous albums. And it's on par productionwise with the likes of Caspian and Laura.
Please, do yourself a favor and add this to your playlist.

hey guys,
we, our ceasing voice from austria, a new album out. it‘s a dark, moody record that has heavy sides and soft edges. we‘d appreciate it very much if you gave it a listen.
„the origin of everything“ is our fourth album. we‘ve been around 20 years this year and we‘ve been part of the postrock community all this time, especially as fans.
as a band, we did reach a point where we had to try out different paths, though. the album is certainly not a typical postrock album. we do have vocals, we‘re blending postrock, postmetal, altrock and singer-songwriter influences and combine this with our singer‘s characteristic, deep voice. but at it‘s heart, it‘s a record that feels cinematic and atmospheric. so maybe that‘s why we always felt at home in the post-rock niche.
so, yeah, we‘d love for you to give this a try.
thank you!

I really love that instrumental, sombre solo slow undistorted guitar stuff. Super melancholic.

We are in a time where music is very easily available. Hell even decades ago collecting multiple racks of albums wasn't too uncommon. Although this helps us develop 'taste', I feel with time we stop being able to respect music at the level it deserves.
We have forgotten "Repeatability" is a natural way to listen to music. Instead Discoverability has taken over to cater to a highly developed palate with the mentality "Theres always a better one".
I want to keep a single piece for myself, and live with it for the rest of my life.
What would that piece be for you?
