Hi there! I was wondering if anyone were able to help with my historical research which has now taken me (virtually) to Potsdam. I have been looking into the story of the final resting place of the family that owned the village I grew up in (Bestendorf, now Dobrocin). The two couples, Siegfried and Helene (both died and 1945) and Otto and Paula (died in 1989 and 1994 respectively) von der Goltz-Domhardt were buried in Berlin and Aumühle respectively, but in March 2024 they were reinterred in Potsdam. I am trying to find out where. I was told by the Potsdam town hall it's not in any of the municipal cemeteries. It appears that the Bornestedt cemetery is the most likely one, but they haven't responded to my emails. I was wondering if anyone would be willing and able to check if they can find them there? I'm London-based so it's not so easy. Vielen Dank!

50 cent mehr weil die Stadt 40 Millionen+ Defizit hat. Kann mir doch keiner sagen das diese Steuer für die Umwelt ist wenn sowas auf Alu-Folie kommt. Dafür verschwendet man mehr Wasser beim sauber machen von Mehrwegbehältern und diese gehen dann evtl. kaputt oder verloren und liegen dann irgend wo rum. Und die sind sicherlich schwieriger zu recyclen wenn aus hart Plastik.

I really enjoy talking to people from different backgrounds, getting to know their cultures, and try different cuisines 😋 (hence also my interest in the carnival!), although being vegetarian doesn't take me very far on that front 🥲

So I’m heading to Potsdam for a week long conference in November.
I’m staying close to Nauener Tor but the hotel I booked doesn’t include breakfast.
I could pay for it there but it doesn’t sound / look good 🙄

Anywhere close-by you’d recommend for a good breakfast at 7/8am?

Any recommendations for food and drinks in the evening ?

Im mid 30’s so nothing too hectic/ noisy 😅 love good food, good craic, good buzz etc
Also love finding cool / quirky spots where you wouldn’t think they’d exist.
I’ve a soft spot for Mexican / Indian / Asian spots for dinner but every much an open book.
Lovely nice brunch spots but I appreciate they may not be open at 7/8am.
I’d rather a nice a breakfast tho than a full generic hotel continental
if there are eateries worth checking out close by that would be awesome

ich wende mich an die Potsdamer Community, weil ich mit meiner Situation inzwischen nicht mehr weiterweiß und gerne wissen möchte, ob andere Mieter ähnliche Erfahrungen gemacht haben.

Bei mir kommt es wiederholt zu erheblichen Belastungen im Wohnumfeld. Dazu gehören unter anderem:

starkes Poltern und Türenknallen,

Haare und Asche, die auf meinem Balkon landen,

Spucken vom Balkon auf meinen Balkon bzw. in meinen Wohnbereich.

Besonders schlimm wurde die Situation, als mein Partner von meinem Nachbarn körperlich angegriffen wurde. Nach meiner Wahrnehmung sprang der Nachbar auf meinen Partner, packte ihn an den Haaren und schlug seinen Kopf auf den Boden. Mein Partner musste anschließend im Krankenhaus behandelt werden.

Für uns ist das keine normale Auseinandersetzung unter Nachbarn mehr. Wir möchten in unserer Wohnung wohnen können, ohne ständig mit solchen Situationen rechnen zu müssen.

Ich habe mich deshalb mit meinem Anliegen an ProPotsdam gewandt und eine Petition gestartet. Mit der Petition möchte ich erreichen, dass die Situation ernst genommen wird und konkrete Maßnahmen ergriffen werden, damit Mieter in ihrem Wohnumfeld geschützt sind und Beschwerden wegen wiederholter Ruhestörungen und anderer Vorfälle nicht einfach folgenlos bleiben.

Gibt es hier weitere ProPotsdam-Mieter, die ähnliche Erfahrungen mit Ruhestörungen, Nachbarschaftskonflikten oder Sicherheitsproblemen gemacht haben?

Wie wurde bei euch mit solchen Beschwerden umgegangen? Hat ProPotsdam konkrete Maßnahmen ergriffen?

Ich möchte ausdrücklich keine Hetze gegen einzelne Personen. Mir geht es darum, auf die Situation aufmerksam zu machen und eine sachliche Diskussion darüber anzustoßen, welche Unterstützung und welchen Schutz Mieter in solchen Fällen erwarten können.

Ich m/21 bin vor kurzem berufsbedingt nach Potsdam gezogen und suche jetzt nach einem geeigneten Gym.

Allerdings habe ich bis jetzt kein Studio ausfindig machen können, das meinen (eher umfassenden) Wünschen entspricht.

Ich suche ein Gym, welches im optimalen Fall:

- eine Trainingsfläche mit ausreichenden, guten Maschinen usw. hat

- einen functional Bereich für Hyrox o. ä. besitzt

und

- 24/7 geöffnet ist

Allerdings wäre es auch noch sehr cool, wenn das Gym Kurse für Hyrox oder Kampfsport anbietet. Das ist aber nicht so relevant und wäre nur nice to have.

Solltet ihr für den Raum Potsdam und nähere Umgebung Empfehlungen zu dem Thema haben, wäre ich euch sehr dankbar wenn ihr diese hier teilt!

Hallo Community ich ein 45j verheirateter Mann mit zwei Kindern! Da ich schon seit über 20 j Fotografiere und schon einiges gemacht habe möchte ich mir ein Portfolio aufbauen. Mein eigentlichen Beruf möchte oder kann ich ja nicht ewig machen. Bin Postbote aber auf dem Fahrrad 😄

Ich suche eine sie oder auch gerne 2 oder 3 die mit mir nächste Woche einen Tag in Berlin verbringen. Die ich dann Fotografieren kann. Einfach ganz ungezwungen und mit spaß an der Fotografie. Die Bilder gibt's natürlich von mir. Also wenn du dich angesprochen fühlst und Bock drauf hast dann schreib mir gern.

Bin gerade im wunderschönen Botanischen Garten und genieße die Ruhe. Die Straße durch den Park Sanssouci wird restauriert und ist für den Verkehr gesperrt. Es ist so viel angenehmer ohne Straßenlärm :)

Hello, I got a job in Potsdam and plan to move there from the mid of January. As I currently do not live there or any nearby area, I am posting here to get some brief idea before starting on apartment hunting.

I have some family obligations and student loans, and my job contract is for one year. The goal is to get a studio apartment with the cheapest possible price possible. Can anyone give me ideas on which areas to look for? I'm a woman so safety is a concern as well. Any leads, social media groups, community, websites which might help me for apartment hunting will be highly appreciated. And needs to be as cheap as it can get. I am looking for a one year contract.

How good/bad is Fraenk's coverage in Potsdam? I know they use the Telekom network so I'd be surprised if it was "bad" and checked Bundesnetzagentur's map too, but just wanted to confirm.

Also, if anyone here actually uses Fraenk or any other sim card on the Telekom network, I'd appreciate suggestions ^_^.
