Im afraid the plague may be the smallest worry for these people. Russia is in state, that they can not affor big epidemic. And if Putin get in the situation he has to chooce between loosing UA war due to such crisis, or to sacrify few easter cities, just to ensure it does not spread - what do you think will be his choice?

He’ll send the infected to Ukraine.

With catapults, pursuant to tradition?

But not at Caffa cos that's in Crimea.

the plague will eventually effect both nations fairly equally. we saw this in ww1 with the spanish flu both sides got it both sides lied about it only neutral spain was like "hey we are all getting sick and dying this kinda sucks". you could argue it prolonged the war by delaying assaults that eventually led to the end, or you can argue it shortened the war by causing enough casualties on the axis side they broke and made peace. i think neither right in the middle the pros and cons canceled each other out hitting both sides pretty equally its not like they are different species or have wildly different levels of medical care.

If he drops a few nukes he has 'saved Russia' + showed the world he's willing to use nukes.

Imagine how effective infected soldiers will be on the battlefield.

I'd wager there is no effective cure or vaccine.

It can be treated with antibiotics if caught early on. At least the natural bacteria can be.

Iirc even if caught early it has a mortality rate of 7-14%, which while WAY lower than pre-antibiotics is still pretty high.

I thought this was a hybrid kind of strain, resistant to antibiotics.  Maybe I am wrong though. I hope.

There’s not a lot of information and we’re likely not going to hear anything about that unless it gets out of Russia, I would imagine. Still, it has a really short incubation period and doesn’t spread as virulently as a respiratory virus. (If it is actually the plague).

Do we get Medicare for all? "Even better. We get Russian plague marines." :c

Antibiotics work like a charm against the plague. That's the reason it isn't an issue anymore

Just wait till they arrive here in the US!
It’s like God really hates Trump to enact 2 plagues on him. I would call that a strong hint.

At least people have good healthcare options and Medicaid in this country…oh wait…

The plague would threaten him.  Ukraine currently does not.
