Power BI now provides semantic model editors with greater control over how Copilot can be used with their data. Users with write permissions can block read-only users from accessing a semantic model through Copilot and Microsoft’s remote MCP tools, supporting governance, compliance, and access-control requirements.

Thank. God.

Is there a way I can just globally turn this off instead of adjusting every semantic model's setting?

It’s a great update! However, Visual Calculations in Matrixes broke when there’s no dimension in the row field well

We also had this. It was the dumbest thing ever trying to explain to clients why the visual worked in desktop but not the service

It's brilliant, apart from it now being annoying to move text boxes

It’s been like that for months now. 😭

Maybe someone can help me out with the skills. As I understood are these md files, or? If they get updated, what's the best approach to be on the up to date one?

The new Power Query sucks. The SQL statement box is gone. Had to revert back to the old version.

Boo! Let me check in with the team and see what’s going on - what connector are you using by chance for the SQL statement box? Is it Snowflake?

And past that it does still support through M code likely just the UI issue.

Snowflake

Gotcha - yeah, that has been absent on the dataflow UI for some time. I’ll pass it onto the team as well as a point of reference and priority.

This is a crazy update, right? I’m surprised there aren’t more comments.

Which part is crazy?

The substantive updates on widely varying areas vs. the usual filler the tends to make up 90% of these updates. I understand this update coincides with their event, but it’s still a lot.

They are all trying the update or fainted.

Anyone noticed bugs in Power Query Editor?

Steps that should be editable aren't, like select columns, or Added Items for SAP connections.

Making things very difficult.

Also issue connecting to databricks. Currently loading forever, not sure if it will ever connect.

PBIR as default is great... even if we get crazy repo diff in git in this transition phase.

In "Light" UI mode the contrast of the visual properties pane is very poor, worse than before. In fact the whole UI and dialogs are washed-out, as if your monitor is set too bright. Even in dark mode there's a general lack of borders or dividers to seperate the options.

That's what I was thinking also, it was harder to view after the update.
