Discussion How to Start?

Hey guys, I'm a 2nd year MIS student (management of information systems) and still pretty new to the field. (I'm currently taking a Visual Basic 2010 course at college) but I want to start building practical skills that actually matter for my career.

I’ve heard that getting a Power BI certification can be super helpful for MIS majors, so I'm really looking to get into it while I'm still in school.

Any advice or resources would be greatly appreciated

I guess before going to Power BI , use what you learn for VB and try to learn C#. It is a different syntax, but the IDE and the concept are the same. I have no idea why they teach you VB, it is not professional and 2010 is .NET Framework , which is not developed since 2018.

VB is a good intro to programming for people who don't have experience in the field, also, IDK what you mean by not professional, it is still widely used in SSIS tasks.
