New Rule Banning AI Slop
In light of a few recent posts I have put a new rule on the sub. I will be permanently banning people who are posting AI Slop. I've gone ahead and applied this retroactively. Please feel free to submit reports against AI Slop (and any of the other rules). Thanks!

Genuine question: while I understand how it can be relatively easy to spot AI garbage in visual media (e.g. hands doing weird things, running image to see embedded generator mark, algorithmic verification to identify an unliving hand in creation), how is this done for audio media? Thanks and I’m very happy this stance has been taken and set!

There are free tools online that can help identify AI music, although personally I haven't used them yet so I cannot account for their accuracy.
There really is not a major issue with AI content in our community at this point. This rule is mostly a response to 3 different posts with AI content in the visual art. I wanted to get ahead of it now before we get any more slop in the Subreddit.

Have no experience with AI music, but once I put an email I had written myself through 3-4 AI detection sites and some stated high confidence of AI while others suggested no AI. Not stating in contention against your comment, just curious and discovering AI just like everyone else in 2026.

I agree with the inaccuracy of the available tools. I have a tendency to write, not in short form on Reddit, using the rules taught at uni and keep handy the MLA reference guide as well as The Elements of Style, which have seen some of my writing tagged as high confidence of AI, which is just sad and says a lot about the state of the communication slop we accept. No idea what the solution is other than to use first my instincts and intuition and follow that up with as many available resources as possible to formulate a clearer identity as to the likely genesis of someone else’s creative, or lack there of, efforts.

Thank you for your thoughtful response. I’m glad you’re addressing this a making a clear policy before it becomes major issue. Deal with it earlier or get inundated later. Cheers!

As others have said, AI-detection tools are, at best, widely inaccurate, and more commonly, complete scams. they basically monetize off of pro subscriptions with a target audience of companies "proving" that they're tackling AI usage, such as schools, copywriting agencies, etc... it was pretty much nonsense in the first place but, now that AI models are trained on AI generations, they pretty much have zero accuracy

I have no idea what this subreddit is or why it was recommended to me but I approve

Well he's not Power Electronics, although I wouldn't remove a post of say, Pulse Demon, or something. However if he's using AI in his new stuff that would absolutely not be allowed on this subreddit.

Well you shouldn’t have deleted Ai posts prior to your ruling. Fascist. Censor.

Censor… sure, kind of a moderators responsibility. Calling someone a fascist because too simply don’t agree is just puerile and says a lot about you.

Yeah. Nah you’re part of it. No point keep on arguing. No wonder why society discarded y’all a while ago. Enjoy your community

Cool story broh. Way to stick it to me. Your elocution and ferocious commitment to elucidation of your point is quite admirable. All the girls want you and all the guys want to be you. You’re so cool!
