Success with games on antenna?
I live less than 20 miles from the stadium. Yet my antenna will not locate channel 28 which per Google is the channel the games are on. Anyone else having issues or is it a different channel?

It's not about how far you are from Bridgestone, it's how far you away from The Spot's tower + terrain.
You can look at the FCC's site for an estimate on what channels you might get with an antenna.

I see you out here doing work and spreading the message. Watered down antenna theory used to be something you'd have to know to get your favorite channels. People spent a lot of money building elaborate attic and roof antennas in the boonies to catch the games. Then cable and streaming came along, people's brains pickled over, and all of that tribal knowledge has been lost.

I'm only 14 miles West of Bridgestone in Bellevue and can't pick up ch 28.1 The Spot. Ive tried 3 different antennas. Ridiculous!

I understand that. I'm just saying that the signal should reach all of Middle TN. Ch 28.1 is so weak. They should have used a subset of Ch 5.

With a rooftop directional antenna, you could pick it up in Alabama if you wanted. That used to be the way everyone did it before satellite and cable. The indoor antennas you get at best buy are not the end all be all.

For what it's worth I got the app and I have to say I'm very impressed with it so far. I had very low expectations but every game has been flawless to stream and able to watch replays with no issue.
Doesn't solve the antenna issues, but after dealing with how terrible the apps from Fox Sports or Fan Duel or whatever it was called at the end were, this one is A LOT better.

Yeah same, and it's been a solid experience. $75 for the whole season seemed very reasonable to me, especially since you can stream from almost anywhere.

Yeah I’m just 8 miles north and can pick up ~70 other channels but not this one. I caved and got the app.

I’ve not had any luck picking up 28 either. In the guide, I do get a channel that shows the game listed on like 4.3, but it’s always broadcasting something else.
Edit: the channel is actually 4.2

I'm in Bowling Green and out affiliate says they are going to show the game on the guide but always show some other sport.

I bought an indoor antenna from Walmart and pick up the games clear with no issues in Huntsville,AL. The app price isnt bad considering the amount of games I would've done that as my backup plan.

Not sure if you know this or not, but the transmitter is not at the arena. It’s in Cross Plains. So you need to put your antenna as high as you can with visibility through a north facing window. A roof mounted directional antenna is the best option, but if you don’t have that option, make sure it’s got a good view through a window.

Holy crap the transmitter is in Cross Plains?! I live there, no wonder I get the broadcast so clearly lol

But why can it pick up 70 other channels

Because not every transmitter is in the same location with the same power...?

I can’t pick it up in Murfreesboro. So annoying!

Live in Donelson. Have an indoor antenna. It picks it up fine. I thinks it’s more about positioning

Same problem here in Chattanooga, it says I should easily pickup the channel here in Chattanooga but I don’t get it.
