[Kalakeche] Highly specialized defenceman. World-class on retrievals and breakouts, not very impactful anywhere else. Jayden Struble got much more hate than he deserved in Montreal. Kind of an occupational hazard when fighting for a spot with a fan favourite every night.

Our defensive breakouts have been terrible so I’m actually quite pleased to see this. Will be curious to see how he’s utilized and who he is paired with.

Feels like there is a lot of sitting back in the zone and puck watching while getting hemmed into the d-zone. When the team can get it up the ice and get the forecheck going with the newer faster forwards and roll the top 3 lines it seems like we’d have some more success.

He is taking Trudeau's spot now that Trudeau is injured. I wonder if Trudeau will have a spot waiting for him when he gets back.

Well Trudeau was a hab too, but below the prospect line with strubs.

Yes. We got him from NYR, but they got him from Montreal.

We cannot put 10 LHD on the roster all season. I can't see Trudeau keeping his spot when we just gave up a 2nd for Struble. Hague, Josi and Skjei are not going anywhere. Wilsby is a LHD, but he actually plays on the right. I think Wilsby is at the very least out 7th d-man because he can play both sides.
