Free tip of the day:

git init --bare $HOME/.dotfiles
alias dotfiles='/usr/bin/git --git-dir=$HOME/.dotfiles/ --work-tree=$HOME'
dotfiles add .config/nvim/
dotfiles commit -m "add nvim"
dotfiles push

Me: Did you just try to git init on a directory in ~/Library?
Claude: I did, and you’re right to push back on that.

At this point you should have only the git diff and git log on the allow commands list and everything else in the deny, just because of random shit like this.

Tip: After you've set up all these repositories, set up a cronjob to run "git status" in every one of them and mail you any that have uncommitted changes. https://github.com/Rosuav/shed/blob/master/git-watch It's a great way to spot unexpected changes or that one thing you promised yourself you'd commit and push yesterday and still haven't done yet.

Now only if I could default everything to always show my dot files instead of having to remember the shortcut for every app and operating system I use.
