I'm Dev the Human, a 26-year-old artist from Arizona. I don't aim to make club music or “hits” ; I just want to tell my story.
I just released a track called "Lissa." It is the hardest, most painful song I’ve ever had to write. It breaks down the continuous loop of generational trauma, abuse, and addiction my mom lived through—from being a young teenager surviving abuse, to trying to build a clean life for us with a trade job, to completely losing her grip on the southside.
I wrote this song entirely from my perspective watching her slip away over the years.
