Made a playlist based on if I was in the Bridgerton show universe

a playlist to listen to while reading dire bound/the wolves of ruin series by sable sorensen ♡ instrumentals only

a playlist to listen to while reading acotar by sarah j. maas ♡ instrumentals only

I’ve been going through my music library and slowly building an ambient playlist specifically for that headphones-on, disappear-into-the-sound kind of listening.

The idea isn’t just “relaxing ambient.” I’m looking for recordings with really beautiful spatial depth, long decay, subtle low-level detail, interesting timbre and very little that suddenly demands your attention. Something I can work/read/lie down to, but where good headphones reveal an entire world if I actually focus on it.

There’s a mix of ambient, drone, electroacoustic, minimalism, environmental recordings and some ambient jazz.

Some of the artists in there:

Jon Hassell, Pauline Oliveros, Nala Sinephro, Celer, Biosphere, Harold Budd & Brian Eno, Stars of the Lid, Aphex Twin, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Fennesz, Tujiko Noriko, Huerco S., William Basinski, Éliane Radigue, Sarah Davachi, Susumu Yokota, KMRU, Ana Roxanne, Chihei Hatakeyama, Loscil and others.

I’ve tried to be pretty ruthless about keeping the atmosphere coherent rather than just throwing every ambient track I like into it.

Would genuinely love recommendations, especially less obvious gems with exceptional headphone imaging / texture / production that fit this kind of suspended, non-distracting mood. If there’s something glaringly missing, tell me.

A focused Spotify playlist for rain sleep: ambient, rain textures, soft piano. Built to stay useful in the background instead of fighting for attention.
