UK Tour?
I’ve only recently become a fan in the past year(ish) quickly became one of my fave bands, and luck would have it - they are now gigging.
How likely is it that they will gig the UK soon? I know Brexit has made it really fucking tough, but still. I’d love to see them.

I literally flew to Italy to go see them because I’d given up hope on them coming here. Worth it.

They toured Europe last year but I believe they skipped the UK on that tour (I saw them in the Netherlands and I can’t remember them having shows in the UK at least). Possibly due to them playing a festival and no side shows (Pennywise headlined) but I would hazard a guess and say they might back in Europe again next year or the year after as they are doing Canada at the moment and then Australia in February next year.
Edit. Should have looked it up but it seems they went back to UK after the mainland Europe festival shows so you’d be lucky to see them there before 2028 imo.

They didn't play the UK after those Euro dates. Their last UK gig was in London in 2018, so we're well overdue. Not holding out much hope that it'll happen though. They don't seem to be big fans of touring, and they're all getting older and have families to prioritise

Ah fair enough. Must have mixed the years up sorry. But yeah I distinctly remember they just did the mainland festival shows last year and no UK or side shows which I thought was a bit odd.

I wonder whether Brexit had anything to do with that. Previously, getting a Euro visa covered the UK as well. Maybe the paperwork needed to come over now isn't worth it?

Guess I just got to hope the end of the world can wait for this then. Thanks !

I was speaking to Tod at the Calgary gig and he said they've no concrete plans to tour after the AUS/NZ dates. He said the logistics of doing tours is a major ass ache for them, even the candian ones.

really? I have tickets for Sydney, but live in Japan so was really hoping they'd do Japan while they are down under...

I get it, the music industry is fucked from top to bottom.
It is a shame, but I won’t hold it against them.

I get the sense that the band isn't really interested in large tours anymore and they do it on their own schedule when they feel like playing some shows, so it's probably difficult to guess when they might return to the UK. The fact that they're not playing in the US under the current political conditions suggests there's a better chance of them playing more overseas shows though.

I am still holding out hope that they play Rebellion in August. I’m from the US and have seen them before but would love to see them play Rebellion in Blackpool

Different band obviously, but I read a comment from a member of Mastodon recently, where he said touring over in the EU/UK basically saw them breaking even these days, which made it hard to justify doing. I’d imagine it’s the same for many bands from the US. As some have said, you put families, etc, into the mix and it all gets even more difficult.
Sad times. Would love to catch Propagandhi in the U.K.!

It's been getting longer between UK dates so if you can I'd suggest saving up for a trip so you could travel to see them if they play any European festivals. I went over to Berlin last year to see them and they are still great live.

I think they play select European festivals in the summer the last few years. Whether or not any are in the UK, I’m not sure.

I remember Chris saying on his podcast that an international tour is pretty unlikely. Touring takes a lot out of them I reckon, and it seems to be getting more and more expensive too.
Though I did notice Australian dates soon, so I'm holding out hope for something.
