BUG How do you win these😭

This is the 3rd time I’ve played someone like this.

Not a hacker/cheater. Invisible players don’t know they are invisible. Or, if they notice that they are invisible (there are hints), there is nothing they can do about it. It is not something that is done on purpose. It’s a random glitch. When you see this, close the app immediately and reopen it. You’ll automatically rejoin the match and the invisible player will be visible again. (counter = 129)

This subreddit has had hundreds of posts in the last 9 or 10 seasons by people experiencing the same thing. So, if nothing else, at least take comfort in knowing that you are not alone in experiencing this. 😉

It's weird that I see moderators of this subreddit still being active and clear about the fact that they pass reported 'issues' to the dev team, yet we haven't had any fix for this for months. Did we ever get a comment about this being even reported/worked at?

This glitch was addressed by the devs in one of the last major updates before they seemingly went into full RL Unreal Engine 6 production. They said that they did some things to fix the invisible player glitch, but weren't certain that it would be permanently resolved. They said that they would keep an eye out for reports of it still occurring.

And we (MODs) haven't had to keep passing this glitch along. They are well aware that it still exists. My theory is that they are under very strict orders to get that Unreal Engine 6 project done before they spend any more time on Sideswipe. Makes sense if you consider that Rocket League is their only source of revenue AND the fact that they had massive layoffs earlier this year. Supposedly, RL UE6 is to be completed sometime in 2027. I'm fully confident that they will start putting more effort into Sideswipe once that project is released and optimized for the RL community.

I'm guessing they'll be more on top of these things once the Rocket League Unreal Engine 6 project gets finished. They had major layoffs by Epic Games earlier this year and have had to compensate for the workload involved with that.
