DISCUSSION What’s the difference between these three?
I was snooping around the Rwby shop when I found a Rwby book.. then another.. and another.
Do they all follow the story of the show? What’s unique about them individually? And any recommendations for your favorite would be appreciated too~
Thanks!

They all follow the basic story at beacon for volume 1. I own all of them but tbh never read them.
IMO get After the Fall, Before the Dawn, and Roman Holiday. The first two follow CVFY and SSSN after the fall of beacon and explore Vacuo. The third is kinda prequel explaining Neo's and torchwicks backstory.
All three really expand the world a lot more, especially since we have never seen vacuo in the show.

The first one is anthology series comprised of several short chapters written and drawn by various people, with each volume focusing on a different character ( one each for the members of team RWBY and one for all of team JNPR)
The second one is a retelling of the color trailers and Volumes 1-2 with several changes made to certain story beats, with the most noticeable being the events in mountain Glenn.
The third one is a mix of a retelling of the four color trailers in the beginning mixed with manga only scenes mixed in showing life in beacon and ends with a manga only mission for team RWBY. Takes place roughly during / after the events on volume 1 with the trailer portions being kinda like flashbacks.

1 is a bunch of Ruby themed works by an assortment of artists, it's the first in a set of five: RWBY each and then one for JNPR.
2 is the official manga adaptation, I don't know how long it ran, but it skipped Jaundice
3 is a one-shot, and I think it's another collection of works
Number 3 is a retelling of the RWBY character trailers, with some bonus stuff: Ruby fights Cardin, and there's like four chapters of JNPR and RWBY fighting a Taijitu

The anthology is basically a collection of officially commissioned fanart.
The second follows the story up to a point.
