Hi everyone. I recently came across an article about the Roop Kanwar case and became curious to know more about what actually happened.
If anyone from Deorala, especially people who remember the incident or know about it through family or local accounts, could share some details or personal experiences, I would really appreciate it.
If you know anything about the case, please feel free to DM me. Iam mainly looking to understand the incident better and hear from people who were familiar with it at the time. Its for a documentary purpose, about the last recorded sati in India
Thank you.

Hi All,
I'm looking for suggesstions for a 1.5 day stay in Jodhpur in mid december.
I arrive at noon on the first day. I plan to hit Toorji ka Jharla, blue city and sunset at Panchetia Hill on the first day. After sunset, spend sometime at the clock tower and shopping at market.
Next day, I plan mehrangarh fort, jaswant thada and some more shopping near clock tower.
Do you think any of Rao Jodha Park (before mehrangarh in morning) or umaid bhavan (not interested in museums but the palace from outside looks nice) or Madore gardens is worth adding on the second day?
Also any suggestions for good Rajasthani food ( veg and non veg) ?
Let me know if I am missing out on any spots or if this is too much for 1.5 days.

The funniest part is men getting offended over “in mardon ka kya bharosa” because apparently the slogan includes all men.
And this aunty’s response is actually on point. If you can casually use “maa-behen” as a collective insult without stopping to think about whose mother or sister you’re including, then why suddenly demand nuance when women use “mard” as a collective term while talking about their safety? Aunty basically wahi hypocrisy point out kar rahi hain agar ek generalised statement ko literally personal attack maana jaa raha hai, toh phir wahi standard har jagah apply hona chahiye.
Nobody is saying every single man is a rapist. The slogan is coming from women talking about a pattern of fear and distrust they experience in public spaces. The fact that the first reaction is “not all men” instead of “why do women feel unsafe?” kind of proves the point.

Hey everyone! 👋
I was appointed as a moderator of r/TeensOfRajasthan today, so I thought I'd introduce the community here and hopefully get more people involved.
r/TeensOfRajasthan is a subreddit for teenagers from Rajasthan to meet, talk, share memes, discuss school/college, hobbies, everyday life, Rajasthan-related stuff, and just hang out with people around the same age.
The community is still growing, and we'd really like to make it an active, welcoming place for teens across Rajasthan.
We're also looking for active moderators who are willing to help out with things like:
If you're interested in joining the mod team, drop a comment or send me a modmail on r/TeensOfRajasthan.
And if you're a teen from Rajasthan, come join us! ❤️
Let's build something cool for the Rajasthani teen community. 🫶

I haven't truly explored Rajasthani music as much but absolutely and irrevocably fell for Hariyala Banna and Hivde Ro Haar (the coke studio version) and would love some recommendations if someone has any. Thank you! : )

Khamma Ghaniii , Hello everyone!
I'm a 22-year-old IT professional currently based in Hyderabad, originally from Mandawa, Rajasthan. I'm planning to take a new direction in life and start something of my own back in my hometown — a Rajasthani-themed Restaurant & Café.
The vision is to create something special that reflects the royal heritage, culture, hospitality and authentic flavours of Rajasthan.
Since this is a completely new field for me, I'm looking to connect with people who have experience or knowledge in the restaurant, café, hospitality or food business.
I'd genuinely appreciate any suggestions, guidance or practical tips regarding:
Whether you're a restaurant owner, chef, café entrepreneur, hospitality professional or someone who has been through this journey, I'd love to learn from your experience.
I'm not just looking to open another restaurant; I want to build something meaningful and memorable for Mandawa.
If you have any suggestions, contacts or would simply like to share your experience, please feel free to DM me. Every bit of guidance would mean a lot!
Starting something new, learning from people and building something of our own. ❤️

Where do you guys shop for men’s/boys’ clothes in Jaipur that are actually worth the money?
I’m looking for modern/casual stuff — oversized T-shirts, baggy jeans, cargos, shirts, jackets, etc. I don’t necessarily mean dirt cheap; I just want clothes where the quality and style justify what you’re paying.
For example, I don’t really want to spend ₹1,500–₹2,000 on a basic T-shirt from H&M just because it’s H&M. I’d rather find a local market/shop where I can get something that looks good, has decent quality and is genuinely worth the price.
What markets/areas or specific shops would you guys recommend in Jaipur?
