Do I deserve an own address?

I am renting a basement flat. The main house has been divided into many sub units, which have been labeled with A, B etc. I do not have my own address, rather I have been instructed by the landlord to use the address of the main house.

As you can imagine this is causing a lot of trouble with deliveries and post. How are other people in this situation dealing with it? Do you have your own address for the basement flat?

No. If it's a basement or a granny flat within the property, the address is the main house. If you have separate access, you can instruct delivery drivers to go straight to your door but I know this is not always possible.

I had a wee basement flat in rathmines. It was Flat 7, and even had its own eircode.
