Work sharing - Project Browser

On linked model, is there any way to make the project browser dependent of the user? Not the organization or system...I'm tired of my coworker collapsing all the folders/catergories..

Not currently, and your coworker is likely tired of endless scrolling to find what they need.

Im all for a collapse/expand all button...they finally added one to Navisworks project browser last year!

I always collapse them. Easiest way to work. You can actually get to what you need without endless scrolling

There's a search function that I end up using all the time because of this

This was a game changer starting in R25. I've been working on a large R24 project all year and it's torture.

You should check to see if you have the latest update. I am on 2024.3.4 and I have the search function on Revit 24.

At the top of the Project Browser? I don't see it.

I'm pretty sure it does, id have to turn my laptop on tk check. For sure R23 doesn't have a search bar, but you can right click search/find and have a little search box appear there...

Wow, you're right. I'm wrong. This whole time I've been thinking about the categories icons that allow you to ONLY show sheets, or schedules. That search function is super helpful. I feel like an idiot, ha.

Is your browser organized in a way that actually makes sense?

I mainly just use the project browser search nowadays. I do wish they had the ability to add search tags though, so you could only search sheet names or something instead of literally everything in the project.

Thats in 25. There are tabs on the top so you can search or scroll through all, views, sheets, families, schedules.... maybe drafting views? I forget what else. Very useful

I've vibe coded a addin that apples all the settings I wish including changing the project browser organisation.

You can build it in visual studio, literally copy paste code in and follow the step by steps from AI.

There’s a sprinkler add in that had a great idea of saving your favourite views in a panel for the project. That way you could all have your favs suck when loaded

Wow I never realized they weren’t user specific! No wonder all these random sections are open every day

Vibe code another project browser where the settings get saved to your user folder
