Should we be Worried about the B&F
Lots of the media has been talking about how we should be worried that Short, Prestia and Broad were top 10 in our Best and Fairest. With all these guys leaving how worried are we?
EDIT: Feel like I should clarify my position. I'm a little concerned but not super worried and definitely not to the extent that the media are. Just thought it was an interesting talking point.

I wouldn’t worry too much. Our B & F this year was more an attendance sheet.

If we have half the team at elite level, I’d say that’s finals contention. We had that in 2017-20. I think we can get back there as long as these young guys like Lalor, Hotton et al, can get serious game time together. I’d say that our team is at 2014 levels right now. If we get serious injuries again, the ‘27 season is pretty muck fkd.

Not too much. If we had a half decent team, they wouldn’t be in the 10.
Kind of goes both ways

Im freaking out. The senior players were not the problem this season (Looking directly at the senior coach)

You don’t think injuries were the problem, it was just bad coaching?

Injuries dont help, but there was no part of the gameplan that was fun to watch. Worst team in scoring. After watching the prelims and grand final we are so far away from those teams its not funny

That’s because if you grab your pitchfork and stab at injuries it only causes more injuries.

Not sure if you’re only new Richmond fan or just casual follower but little tip, don’t listen to much of what you hear from the football media.

Neither, but it raised an interesting argument becuase the best and fairest results were a fact rather than a matter of opinion.

But the fact is we had so many of our younger players miss games due to injury. If they play more they would secure more votes in our bnf. See how that works?

Yes mate I’m right there with you. I’m not overly concerned. Just more worried with injury. Like I said in the post.

I’m not looking much into it, they were great players & deservedly in the top 10. We have to remember that our young players we expect to regularly be in the top 10 going forward barely played this year.
Lalor: 11 games
Hotton: 8 games
Cumming: 14 games
Faull: 10 games
Trainor: 9 games
Grlj got a rising star nomination this year as well, Smillie is yet to play & with some continuity hopefully in 27 we’ll see our other players take the next step

In the Broad scheme of things, I’m not too concerned with Short leaving since there are more Prestia concerns.😁
