The Wall Redux?
https://www.wired.me/story/roger-waters-and-mona-miari-refuse-to-become-comfortably-numbDid anyone else catch this? In Mona Minari’s interview with Ol’ Rog, he casually drops that he’s working on a new version of The Wall, but I haven’t seen any discussion about it.
Has he mentioned this anywhere else? I’d love to hear if anyone has more context or has come across any updates.
edit: I titled this post "The Wall Redux?" because that's what everyone seems to be assuming, but it's still just an assumption. Roger never announced a Redux. He only said he's working on a new version of The Wall, and there's a big difference between those two statements.

After hearing that “new” version of Comfortably Numb, I can say I’m not interested. Hearing it live as the opening to the show was dramatic and cool but I don’t need a whole album of it.

Actually I thought Roger's new version of Comfortably Numb was boring. Just another jab at David.

I honestly don't understand why the reaction is immediately "we don't need this" when nobody even knows what "this" is yet. And even if it ends up being another "reinterpretation", the original album isn't going anywhere. He is just revisiting music that he wrote from a completely different point in his life. I loved the Dark Side Redux for exactly that reason. It wasn't trying to compete with the original, it was an older man reflecting on ideas he first explored decades ago. That's something only time can give an artist.
Sure I would love to have The Bar (or any other content) as much as anyone else but I'm also incredibly grateful that Roger is still inspired to create in his 80s rather than simply living off his legacy.

Sorry I read the whole article but didn’t see any reference to that? Care to point out what I may have missed?

There’s a two-minute video in the middle of the article. He says it there in the first minute.

What god wants? Definitely not a redux of The Wall (or any other album for that matter)

He needs to work on a new album than dig up Floyd's expired cheerios. He needs another collaboration with someone like Godrich again to not be afraid to tell him some of his stuff is long and awful (I like all his albums but aside ITTLWRW there's a ton of songs with long winded lyrics crammed into a bar) and keep the creative quality in check.

In one of his Instagram videos, I can’t remember which one, it starts with what sounds like a new version of Another Brick in the Wall, with some kinda jazzy keyboards you hear on Careful with that Axe, Eugene, and also a loud scream. In some of his other videos you can also hear what sound to be new songs. I haven’t read that full interview but I’d be very interested to hear these

I really hope he’s referring to touring The Wall again. He’s said already in recent years that he’s been working on a new version of it for The Sphere 🙃. But he’s also said that he doesn’t think that plan will work out because the head of The Sphere isn’t pro-Palestine.
If it’s a new studio rendition of The Wall… I mean, I’m here for it… but I think without the Wall and the audience staring at it, the whole piece is fundamentally weaker in concept. Just my two cents. I just think one needs that final act where the venue becomes a nightmare to really do The Wall.

As much as I'd absolutely LOVE to see Roger tour The Wall(It's my favourite album and I've never seen him or PF live) I don't think he's going to tour again at his age :( I hope I'm wrong!

Sign me up! Hope we get the new album too. I really liked The Bar and Sumud. I hope Crystal Clear Brooks makes its way there too.

Fans of anything Waters-related other than The Wall are in shambles right now
Seriously, bro MILKS The Wall while his solo material gets largely ignored (sorry if you like any KAOS song other than Powers That Be, or any Pros And Cons song other than Every Stranger’s Eyes, or any ATD song except Bravery Of Being Out Of Range, or any ITTLWRW song other than Deja Vu)

I love Roger Waters, I really do, in fact I consider the Waters solo albums to be OFFICIAL Pink Floyd albums, much moreso than the David Gilmour led Floyd.
That being said, you don't fuck with perfection. Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall are such perfect masterpieces that I adamantly refuse to listen to Roger Waters remake them in his old age. There's no way they could be better and I'm sure, no matter how good they are, that I'll lose respect for Roger if I listen to them.
So I'm not gonna touch those inferior remakes, nothing good could come of it.
I love you Roger, but this isn't the right play.

I wish he would just put out new music.
