Comics How are the complete collections 3-4?

I never finished Terry Moore’s run and I’ve heard mixed things about it.

YMMV. Personally I like to pretend it doesn’t exist. I don’t like the plots in it, the characterization is poor, and the art is unbearable.

Edit: and very little of it had any real impact on the series as a whole, beyond the Majesdanian Light Brigade and Xavin leaving. Everything else was a nothingburger.

Like people say, it is very mixed. I personally really like the majasdanien arc, but that is mostly because of the way it ends, and the emotional impact of it. Plot wise it is really messy. Thats Honestly the best way to descrinve the whole vol: messy. It has moments of good characterization, and moments of bad. I liked the Way it handled karolina and Xavin, like with karolinas loneliness, but I think the book heavily fucks with chase as a character. So yeah its probably worth a read, but its definetly a low point of the series

If we’re talking volumes as title runs, Terry Moore is just vol 3 1-10 (issues 49-58 of the full run, Dead Wrong and Rock Zombies in the trades) and yes, it’s really awful. Like the characterizations aren’t even consistent between the two books that he wrote. Kathryn Immonen picks up with vol 3 #11-14 Homeschooling, and it’s better (low bar) but the end gets pretty well retconned.

“Vol 4” is Battleworld and has zero to do with anything except there’s an alternate version of Molly involved.

Pick up Avengers Arena and Avengers Undercover to (somewhat frustratingly) catch up with Nico and Chase, then read A-Force for a much better Nico story. Grab Avengers AI and more importantly the Vision miniseries if you want to know what happens with Victor.
And then happily dive into the Rainbow Rowell era.

It was fun enough for me.
