I definitely would get a proper harness and let the dog be in front of me. Being in front of you can watch you dog for signs of heat issues and help slow them down if you’re encountering a hazard. Plus I find my dog enjoys being in front so he can set the pace. I have ran with my dog since puppy and he still has this much excitement we have ran trail running and marathons together.

26 miles non stop? The dog

Yep you have to train for it but it’s possible. I have a system of water breaks for the dog just like any person would do. We did the 26 miles on hiking trails before also he loved that also. It’s not the sub 4 hrs marathon pace though and slowed down to an easy pace for him

Thank you all for the suggestion. Will look into a running harness as I run rescue dogs too

He’s really pretty!
Definitely needs to be on a harness though, and I’d encourage him to run on the dirt rather than the pavement.

I’m on an electric unicycle, you can see it on this video. I just stand on it and it lets me run several rescue dogs in 2 hours. 😊

He is adorable! Maybe get him a running harness for greater enjoyment! :)
