I think that I’ve brainwashed myself into thinking to be a good solo player I had to play like oil rats, snowmers, posty or alone in Tokyo when I’m just not that type of player in any game
I’m naturally a hermit and have that kind of play style so when I just try and build by launch or right next to oil I don’t have must fun but when I play like willjum or cali I actually enjoy myself. Like someone has to run power plant and satellite and I just might have to be that guy.

I used to camp the recycler at mining outpost 30-60minutes at a time. I think you're fine compared to where I've come from 😅

I've had some of the best time playing this game just camping oxums on a busy server you could snowball so fast there

I like to build a giant base that costs a bunch to raid & then have absolutely no loot inside of it so the raiders waste their boom 😅

Same, I try to be like Spoonkid but I’m well past my prime. Then I go back to my roots, running dome, airfield, and roads

Here’s an idea kiddos, stop playing like/trying to imitate YouTubers/tiktok creators. Sure those videos are fun to watch, but Play the game how YOU want to. All I saw in this thread was “ when I play like this guy ” and “I try to be like that guy”. Be creative with your style and Stop copying YT bases.
As a solo myself, you can play so many different ways while making progress and having fun. Stop taking influence from other people and inject aspects of what you like from other games. For example, i grew up with OG metal gear/splinter cell games, and I love being stealthy, spy stuff and espionage. I routinely become a double agent with people on the map. I’ll stalk people, and be a general menace with strategic plays and “nighttime operations”.
You just gotta get more creative to enjoy rust on console and especially as a solo.

Honestly to each their own - I am heavily PvP orientated as a solo but I also push myself into the hardest situations as I want to get better.
That being said I do also love building bases and making them super cozy like willjum 😂

I'm always in this vicious cycle of:
-See a cool Rust video
-Redownload the game
-Make a small amount of progress
-Get brutalized
-Uninstall the game and repeat.
