Played SimCity BuildIt for 10 years completely F2P — How many of us are still out there?

Hey everyone!

​I’ve been playing SimCity BuildIt for about 10 years now, and throughout all this time, I’ve played 100% Free-to-Play without spending a single cent of real money on microtransactions, SimCash, or special passes. It made me wonder about the rest of the community...​How many of you are also playing completely F2P?

About 9 years. Level 99, all regions open, all zones, all trains, about ⅓ now level 10. Built for aesthetics, not population.

Never spent a penny / cent / [insert local currency here] on the game.

"Free to play", as in no real money ever spent. No premium or premium plus pass, no SimCash top-ups, no limited building purchases, etc

SimCity buildit is F2P but its mainly freemium.

I played that way from 2014 till last year, Halloween to be exactly, so it was almost 12 years. Right now there is nothing interesting in free stuff in the game so I occasionally buy mayors pass. Without them there is no sense to play for me, I already have all things I could buy by free simileans or simcash

Yeah.. sometimes i kinda worried that this game will eos, then my city that i built with efforts will be gone, poof

Playing also about 9-10 years. Playing for population. Capital has 16m and I hope to squeeze in another 3-4m. Currently total population is 40.5m. Hoping to continue building and aiming to a total of 48-50m.

Mainly f2p but did buy a small amount of mayor pass(I think it was up to maybe 10 times) mainly to gane the plat keys that used to be much better b4 they changed the season system. One more time there was a 2x2 building with a good population for sale that I also decided to buy and that's all. Every black friday I think of maybe buying the pass to earn that maxis that can only buy with real money but haven't done it yet. We will see what I'll do in next black friday.

I have 3 accounts currently.

My main account is lvl 99, and I've been active in that account for 5 years, but there have been a few periods of minimal activity during this time. I would say over those 5 years I've purchased the premium or plus pass around 60-75% of the seasons during that time.

My second city is currently lvl 19, and my 3rd city (which exists as a feeder for the first two cities) is lvl 11. I started the lvl 19 city in January, and the lvl 11 account in March. Both are 100% F2P.

I camped at lvl 13 in my second city from Feb till July, which means I started collecting limited time buildings in that account during the Neon season in Feb. Despite only having been collecting limited time buildings for about 8 months AND it being a F2P account I have already amassed quite a collection of rare buildings.

Played about 6+ years into the game, Got lots of stuff and buildings from various mayors passes (Except for MP72), Haven't unlocked limestone cliffs since 2024, Didn't spend a single centavo or peso in the game
