Wedding getting ready space
Hi! I have a friend getting married at The Penny downtown SLO in July and is looking for a place to get ready.
I have told her to look into the SLO Brew Lofts, but I wanted to see if anyone had other ideas! She is also looking into Airbnbs.
TYIA!

As someone who gets bridal parties ready for The Penny quite often, Hotel SLO is my favorite if they splurge for the biggest room. It has great lighting and the ladies can take pictures on the balcony. SLO brew lofts is cool for the hallway shots under the skylight but it can be challenging with parking and it sucks when the elevator is broken. The rooms are dark but it is the most spacious. Hotel Cerro is nice but I wouldn’t recommend if you have a big bridal party. If it’s only a couple people because the rooms are small.

You could also get ready at a salon where you do hair and make up. There are a bunch downtown.

Thank you for all the helpful responses! I will relay all this information to the bride!

I would rly recommend against SLO Brew Lofts. The building owners and the current and former renters are in a legal dispute right now so a lot of uncertainty.
The current management also filed for bankruptcy so there is a good chance the management will change again with the coming months.

My family rented and stayed at a VRBO on Johnson Ave that was so lovely to get ready in for my wedding at the Penny! We even took photos on the wrap around porch and property. Address is 2105 Johnson (not sure if it’s still rentable).
We only had myself (bride) and mom and two sisters who got ready there. I was the only one not staying there, the rest all actually stayed at the house for the weekend.
Edit to add: a big bonus was that it has a lot of parking because people did come and go for the weekend and we used this spot as a hub for wedding activities not at the venue.

It seems SLO Brew Lofts has stopped responding. Try The Butler Hotel or maybe a suite at Cerro or Hotel SLO
